Hello from Costa Rica! I'm a Costa Rican, living in Costa Rica.

I'm a proud member of the Awesome A Team - 5% Challenges.

My weight loss story:

For about 3 years, I was unable to get the motivation and determination (the big push) necessary to embrace and enjoy a complete change in my lifestyle seriously, until I got into the 5% challenges. I was always procrastinating the big start.

Thanks to the 2014 Summer 5% Challenge, I lost 5.4 pounds. And to the 2014 Fall 5% Challenge, I lost 4.6 pounds more and reached my goal weight (a total of 10 lbs lost).

I am extremely happy I've found invaluable friends along this lifelong journey here at SP.

Positive quote-Stay positive even when it feels like your world is falling apart.

Thursday we had a VA caretaker come over to sit with hubby while I walked to the Salvation Army thrift store, a 2 mile walk. On the way back I felt a sharp pain in the back of my hip that traveled to the front and down my leg front and back. I did not know what was going on and came home to lay in bed the rest of the day, except for getting up taking care of hubby. The caretaker left right after I came home as her time to stay with hubby was up.

The next day at 6:30 am the pain was worse and hubby sent me to the ER while he stayed in bed waiting for our caretaker-M to come in at 10 am. They saw me in the ER and said it was Sciatica. I was told to go home to bed and no recreational walking for 2 weeks. What me not walking for 2 weeks, I can't, yes I can. I am in pain each step I take. I can't stay sitting up long, but can post to you all while sitting for 20 minutes every 2 hours on an ice pack. You can't keep me down.

My Mom's apartment is only 2 bedroom and my brother lives with her to take care of her. I am not close to my other brother and wouldn't feel comfortable or even really wanted there.

Section 8 didn't transfer the case to Vernon in time so basically I am homeless for the month of September. I have no place to put my stuff and no where to go for the month. I am trying to work it out now. emoticon emoticon emoticon
