Hello from Costa Rica! I'm a Costa Rican, living in Costa Rica.

My weight loss story:

For about 3 years, I was unable to get the motivation and determination (the big push) necessary to embrace and enjoy a complete change in my lifestyle seriously, until I got into the 5% challenges. I was always procrastinating the big start.

Thanks to the 2014 Summer 5% Challenge, I lost 5.4 pounds. And to the 2014 Fall 5% Challenge, I lost 4.6 pounds more and reached my goal weight (a total of 10 lbs lost). Aiming a more middle range BMI, I decided to go for 126 lbs which I reached (for a grand total of 19 lbs lost since I joined SP).

I am extremely happy I've found invaluable friends along this lifelong journey here at SP.

My Goals:
To have fun, sharing and accomplishing goals together with my SP friends in this lifelong health journey.

I reached my goal weight on Nov 8, 2014. My center weight is 128 pounds. The lifelong, and so far very difficult, maintenance challenge has begun.

My Program:
2016 Fall 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment
A minimum of 60 m of exercise, walking/hiking/other, 6 days a week. This may include 30 min of stretching and ST, 2 to 3 days a week.

As for my diet, nothing specific but to eat as healthy as possible within my calorie range to maintain or lose weight.

Personal Information:
I live in Grecia, Alajuela, Costa Rica, in the mountains (at an altitude of 4757 ft). Married for 39 years. Three grown children already gone, and three grandkids. I'm currently working as a caregiver at home for my granddaughter 6, and her baby brother 16 months old.
My first SparkFriend in this page is my daughter and my granddaughter (pic taken about 5 years ago).

Other Information:
Besides my family, I enjoy my daily routine of exercising, caring for my pets, 4 dogs - 4 cats, the Internet forums -SP, reading, watching movies or TV series. I also love to travel overseas, but can't afford to do so as often as I'd like to.
I'm an atheist with total respect for people's beliefs.

I did make a few pictures for the Awesome A's. Nothing as fancy as our beautiful team logo though! I saw your team wall post. You are so kind to think to give me credit. It isn't necessary though. I hope she is home by tomorrow!

The scale up again today. I have tried many fad diets and they work for awhile and then I go off eating crazy. I really protest restrictions. I am going back to what really works, counting calories and eating healthy. That is how I lost the weight in the first place. I know that the smart thing is to track what I eat so am going to do that again start right now today!!!! emoticon

Matcha tea is a Japanese tea that is not just leaves. .I bought it on Amazon, you use a teaspoon of it, with a little water and froth it, then add frothed cup a day is enough, and antioxidants are what you get from the tea. Tastes mild.

Sorry you did not like the team. They do a lot of chatter, but are very friendly. I do want to keep in contact with you and guess we can do it on each others page.
I have been very busy with hubby's and my doctor's appointments, and will be busy next week too. But I need to make time for myself and Spark.
My eating has gotten out of hand with candy binges but have kept up my walking, doing 15 miles a week in my walks.
