I guess I'm lucky in that I live alone, and my family are scattered all around the country. I have no need to keep my pantry stocked with goodies just in case they drop in, because I always have weeks, if not months, of advance notice before a visit.

Is there somewhere you could store those things safely, but where you wouldn't have them staring at your from the pantry shelves? Even a large plastic storage tub with a lockable lid might keep them out of your way.

Your comments on my blog are so right - I guess though I knew I was running the risk of the room full of someone else's furniture was not going to be short term when I offered to store it. Just bad timing, because within a week or two, all those long-vacant flats and houses had disappeared from the 'to lease' list due to a large, long term construction contact being approved to go ahead in a town 30 minutes from us. Now anything still vacant is either not fit to live in or is so expensive it's way beyond reach of anyone with a single income.

I'll just be happy to have this room (to the left of my front entry) looking neat and nicely arranged so it's functional and not just one thing crowded in against something else, which is in front of yet another thing. I'm going to save so much time each day when I have it finished, because there will be no more wondering which carton/storage tub the one thing I need is hiding in, lol. Besides, then I'll be able to finally get back to sewing again. That thought will make having to do almost anything worthwhile!

Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog "Don't feel like it? Do it anyway?" It's something I need reminding of quite often. Putting it out there in a blog helps sink it into my mind as well! Hope you are having a wonderful week.

Good luck with tackling one box at a time. I've tried that in the past, but with me it's either all or nothing, and after a few boxes I find myself making too many excuses for not continuing past the first few days. I'd rather a fulll on attack of the entire room, and then it's done. None of my friends tackle their rooms in the same way I do - they can't understand how I can keep up the enthusiasm to keep going till it's finished. I guess we're all wired differently :D

As for the tape measure, no, I haven't tried measuring myself - couldn't summon the courage to accept what I'd measure that first day of Sparking. Instead though, I have a once-too-tight pair of jeans I use to check my progress. Pre-Spark, I had to struggle to do them up, and bending over was almost impossible. I tried them on yesterday and not only are they loose now, but the waistband is still loose when I bend right over and touch my toes. Gotta love that feeling - much more sense of achievement than measuring myself, heheh. emoticon

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments in response to my blog. I struggle with walking alone, which is why, when my own two dogs have had enough walking for the day, I've started 'borrowing' the dogs belonging to two friends to keep me motivated. Maybe you know someone who isn't able to exercise their own dog, who would appreciate someone helping them out by taking it for some exercise?

That friend of mine whose house is for sale... today while we were out of town, she got a call from the realtor - the person who was interested in it has now sold his own house, so has raised his offer to meet her asking price. Two days of celebratory lunches in a week! For me though, mine involved chicken, or a very lean beef patty, and lots of salad. She is so relieved, and I'm so very happy for her. Now she can face the future without any financial concerns.
