Hi, I am Mae and I am the Senior Pastor of a church in Northern California. On March 13, 2012 I had surgery for brain cancer and have been fighting congestive heart failure since December of 2006 after contracting a bacterial infection in my heart, but God is faithful and has been my strong tower all the way. Hi, I am Mae and I am the Senior Pastor of a church in Northern California. On March 13, 2012 I had surgery for brain cancer and have been fighting congestive heart failure since December of 2006 after contracting a bacterial infection in my heart, but God is faithful and has been my strong tower all the way. Because of emotional eating, medication, and inactivity my weight just kept going up. So with God’s help I began research on healthy eating, saw a dietician (free praise God, part of my chemo treatment), and began eating healthy. After a few months I started measuring and journaling everything –portion control. I have lost 35 lbs. I believe that God has preserved my life and I must do all I can to honor that gift. I am looking forward to making encouraging friendships here on spark people.
