Roughly 22ish pounds down, on the North Shore of Oahu. I LOVE how I look ... and how I feel!

One Day at a Time

My name is Liz, and I'm a 36-year-old Tennessee woman with about 100 lbs to lose. On April 1 (no, seriously!), my boyfriend and I gave up all sugar and most carbs. We've continued to eat this way for the last 4.5 months, and I feel fantastic!

I have been tracking my food and exercise (fairly religiously) here on SparkPeople, but mostly so I'll know roughly what percentage of my daily food intake is coming from protein vs fat vs carbs. I'm consistently around 50% fat/30% ...

I have been tracking my food and exercise (fairly religiously) here on SparkPeople, but mostly so I'll know roughly what percentage of my daily food intake is coming from protein vs fat vs carbs. I'm consistently around 50% fat/30% protein/20% carbs... and that feels really great for me. I average around 2100 calories a day and 30-75 minutes of exercise every single day (most of that is walking, combined with three weekly workouts I discuss in my blog).

I'm loving this journey!

My Goals:
I'd like to lose about 100lbs, but more importantly, I'd really just like to feel healthy and able to take on any activity that sounds interesting. Right now, my weight and physical limitations occasionally prevent me from being willing to try something new.

My Program:
I'm not restricting calories, for now; mostly, I'm just trying to eat whole/natural foods close to their natural state. I'm aiming for about 50% of my food to be protein, another 30ish% fat, and the rest (naturally occurring) carbs.

Hi! Thank you for commenting on my blog. I'll have to look up Dr. Rob--is he as gung-ho on supplements as Dr. Oz? LOL I had to stop watching him a long time ago.

Greens are one of the most difficult for me to add in. In general, I just don't like them, but I'm trying. Good to know there could be a payoff with the acid reflux--especially since I'm already seeing some changes.

Have a great week!
