I am a single female who has struggled with weight for my entire life. I have had many ups and downs. I have been a member of Spark People for many years, although I haven't always utilized it to it's full capacity. I have recently started my journey all over again and am doing well. I intend on sticking to this and crossing the bridges that inevitably come up. I need to make this happen.

My Goals:
My goal is to be 130 lbs by December 31st. When I reach that, i will be 94 lbs down from my all time high of 224 lbs.

My Program:
I am very strict about tracking my nutrition. Most days I am between 1200-1300 calories. One of my goals is to eat fresh produce at least once a day. 99% of the time I meet this goal. I also try very hard to stay within my range for fat, protein and carbohydrates.

My workout routine includes strength training 3 times a week and cardio at least 3 times a week. I do my best to vary my cardio routine and have recently added running and bike riding to it.

Other Information:
I have a very strong, very bad cardiac history in my immediate family. By the time my Dad was my age, he had already had his first of 3 heart attacks. My grandfather died of heart disease at my Dad's current age. Not only do I want to lose weight to look and feel better, I want to do as much as I can to reverse my bad family history.

Great job on your recent run! That's so great that you felt energized!

I plan to walk about 25% of this upcoming race. I'm doing the Galloway method, where I run 3 minutes and then walk for 1 minute.

That's a good idea to get a half marathon under your belt before doing a full marathon. :)

Have a good week, and happy training!

Congrats on the awesome run! Hope there was no pain afterward although personally I get cranky with myself if I am not a bit achy nthe next day. Joint pain is never good but I actually like the muscle aches (yeah, I am a bit odd! LOL)

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I'm glad to know Kansans aren't the only people who can appreciate the beauty of a storm!!

Great job on your run yesterday! How far did you go? Will this be your first half marathon? Any plans for a full marathon in the future?
