Hi! I am paperclipsue. I have tried sparkpeople before but did not keep up with it. In the process I have gained weight!! My goal is to lose 30 pounds before I get diabetes, high blood pressure . . . I am 63 years old and have 2 grandchildren. Another goal is to run an agility course with my dog, Colman. I have been taking dog agility lessons for about a year. Love every minute of it. We have practiced up to 20 obstacles at a time. Still learning.

My Goals:
My goals are to lose 36 pounds and gain energy. I want to be able to keep up with my 8 year-old twin grandchildren and my family. I also want to be able to keep up with my dog, Colman, in agility.

My Program:
I am tracking all my food and my fitness. My diet partner is Colman, my mini-poodle. Basically, I am walking and doing some strength training at home. We also have a small exercise room at our church.

Personal Information:
I retired after 34 years of teaching elementary music.

My husband and I have 3 adult sons.

My husband works on the family farm and is a musician (guitar, drums, mandolin, sings).

My oldest son sings tenor with a southern gospel quartet called "Witness".

My middle son is married and has the twin grandchildren-boy/girl.

My youngest son will be a juniorat IUPUC this fall.

I accompany our church choir, lead the praise band and I accompany our community choir.

In the summertime, I have the privilege to babysit my grandchildren. Life is good.

Other Information:
I love to read and I read: "The Spark". I found it very helpful for understanding the website and Spark plans.

I also love babysitting the grandkids, playing the piano/keyboard, scrapbooking, and playing games with my grandkids and my family. Also, I have great friends (on and off Spark People) who encourage me to keep "sparking".
I have been taking dog agility lessons for about 1 year. I LOVE IT!!!

Hi! I see you are going back down on the weightloss...good for you. I went down this week..but one week isn't exactly a trend. I am so looking forward to walking now that we have longer days. Hope you are getting out while on vacation.

Thanks for the goodie! Looks like you are halfway to goal, what did/will you reward yourself with? Halfway is a landmark!

I find it amusing that Gizmo is your diet partner. I have never owned any animals but I can see that it must be very motivating to help Gizmo at the same time as he helps you.

I wish you great success on your journey to vibrant health.

I keep missing your status' on here. thought maybe you were gone and was going to have to do something to get your attention. I see, now, that you posted just yesterday...and are walking. Glad to know that.

I have started that Bible study and we are all loving it. I am finally losing my holiday weight...almost all gone...so I will be back to learning maintenance...or maybe this is what maintenance is.

I had a cool experience today. Was starving after work out and picking up N so was going to go out to eat..and went a different way than usualy and with out thinking about it just drove into a restaurant I haven't been in in 15 years. I asked for the low cal meal section.and she pointed it out and asked me if I was trying to lose (dang..she had to ask?). Then she told me she had lost 117 pounds. WOW. I actually asked if I could give her a hug and she was thrilled. I asked her if she would like to come and tell my Bible study about it and she agreed. We exchanged names, emails and phone numbers. I feel like God led me there....now I have invited someone to inspire my group as well as invited someone to see our church. I can't imagine what it would feel like to feel you have been a tool to bring someone to Christ. Or maybe she is Christian. Either way it was a cool experience.
