My Goals:
Generally, I want to be intentional, purposeful, and committed.

Specifically, I will lose weight (90#), become more flexible and stronger.

I will proactively make healthy choices.

My self*image will get better so that when I reach my goals, I won't still think I'm fat, as I did when I was a size 6/8.

My Program:
Read reliable information from credible sources regarding:
Nutrition
Goal Setting
Time Management
Motivation
Self*Esteem
Special Fitness Concerns
Basic Anatomy & Physiology

Create a Timeline for accomplishing goals.

Find People to be accountable to.

Share what I learn with others who express an interest.

Personal Information:
Although I currently live in Washington county Oregon & have for the last 25 yrs, I was born in Texas.

I've travelled to every state west of Kentucky (where I lived for about 4yrs) except for Michigan to the north & Oklahoma to the southwest.

I've been married to the same man ...let's see... it will be 21 years this fall after we dated for 2 years.

Other Information:
I am learning several things:

How to ... play golf, play the piano, draw/paint.

I enjoy time with my husband, our four footed friends, reading (everything except romance novels & pulp Sci Fi) and trout & salmon fishing.

We both love the Chicago Cubs (altho why is beyond me LOL) and cooking, especially Italian and German foods. Less than 10% of what we eat comes out of a can or box.

Hi Marie! Sounds like you've been bizzy, bizzy, bizzy there studying ... I'll stay tuned to hear how it went with your finals. Best wishes for high scores! Weather's been so beautiful this week we felt like running away from home! So we took a little trip Sunday and met my brother for dinner near Pittsburgh ... nice break for all of us. Now we're getting the patio set up for summer lounging around and wondering when it'll be safe to move our big potted plants outside. May have to wait a couple weeks for that ... On the subject of sodium, I'm not so hot on Mrs. Dash, so I just cut the salt out when I cook. Also, I buy sodium free bread, which is hard to find. The only one I've found that I really love is Shiloh Farm Organic Sprouted 7-Grain bread, but it's only good when toasted, with butter. I follow a 2 Gm./day sodium diet which is easy when you cook, but not when you dine out. Then you just have to eat less, watch it, read the nutrition info, OR, go nuts and make up for it the next day! I'm very comfortable with it after about 5 years now.
Hope you have a wonderful summer, Marie!
Clear Skies,
Bev

Loved your comment on Mormonnomore's blog. That is exactly the way I feel. Our society does indeed pride itself on diversity - just so long as your are not promoting Christianity. Seems everything else is ok!
