Mama Wants Her Body Back!

Howdy!

My name is Desiree! I am a 34 year old girl from the Napa Valley. My entire life, I have been active, fit and healthy and for the most part, have always been pretty happy with my body. My name is Desiree! I am a 34 year old girl from the Napa Valley. My entire life, I have been active, fit and healthy and for the most part, have always been pretty happy with my body. Over the years, I have been able to maintain my figure by running (I LOVE running!) and by caring for and riding horses (scooping poop and riding are both excellent cardio!). That is, UNTIL...

I became pregnant last year...

The GOOD news is, I had a beautiful baby girl in August, but the BAD news is... I went from 127 lbs to 173 lbs at the end of my pregnancy! Yikes! I guess I was enjoying being pregnant a little TOO much. Luckily, by the time I came home from the hospital, I was down to 158 lbs, leaving me with 31 lbs to lose! I am excited and determined to lose every single pound I gained and hope I am in the right spot to get that extra push I may need at times. I just want my old body back! : )

My Goal: To get back into MY clothes (size 2/4) so I can stop wearing my husband's t-shirts and finally say good-bye to maternity wear!

My Reward: True Religions in a size 26 please. : )

Wish me luck!!!

My Goals:
Get back into shape after having a baby (and gaining 45 lbs!), maintain a healthy diet (increase my protein and fresh veggie intake!) and ultimately feel great about my body again!

My Program:
I'm sticking to the same fitness plan I followed pre-pregnancy. I'll be hitting the gym for some weight training, elliptical, boot camp and spin classes. And I LOVE anything outdoors... Horseback riding, running, bicycling, walking and hiking!

As far as food, I love it! And I'm Italian so I'm all about the carbs... But I don't tend to do well when I have to follow a strict diet, so I will basically be eating what I want while sticking to only healthy foods AND I'll be working out like a crazy person! : )

Personal Information:
I'm a 34 year old new mom from Napa, California. I work as the administrative assistant at a winery here in the valley. I have a beautiful daughter and the most fabulous husband in the world.

Other Information:
When I reach my ultimate goal of 127lbs (or a size 2), I will treat myself to a new pair of True Religion jeans. : ) Can't wait!

emoticon SO glad you are staying strong! WOOHOO! I think you have a great plan for the big dinner, and you can stick to it with your mad willpower skills! Like my buddy SISSYDOO told me today, the mantra is "keep my eye's on the prize, keep my eye's on the prize..." I'm going to track on Thanksgiving, but I also know that it will be a higher cal day, as I will indulge but within reason. I am cooking for 16, so it will also be busy, and I'm going to try to send leftovers home with people as much as possible! Other than the turkey - I'll eat that! Now if I could just get my 17 y/o daughter to stop baking every night, argh! I laid in bed last night to the smell of fresh chocolate chip cookies being baked until 11 p.m! Talk about difficult! Then the food fest today = but I've been TOTALLY good, and it hasn't been that hard! I just told myself I couldn't do it at all, and I don't feel bad about it like I usually would, I feel PROUD, and STRONG, and yes, even SUPERIOR to those who have been grazing all day long and putting an extra 5000 calories in their diets for the day...hehe! So here's a calorie-free toast emoticon to BOTH of us having a STRONG weekend and totally rockin' that weigh-in on Monday morning!

emoticon Dreaming of my horse again, eh? emoticon So how goes the battle this week my dear? Are you still SMILING, and working it? I KNOW you are! You are motivated, determined, and feeling great about pushing yourself - you are going to get those TRUE RELIGION Jeans in NO TIME! You tell yer hubby that hot mama is here and he'd better watch out! emoticon
I have every hurdle placed in front of me today, with a mass potluck food day at work, but so far I have not had a single bite. I've had my yogurt and banana, and am determined to end this day in VICTORY over that Fat Buffet. I will blog my victory at day end, to keep me accountable. No derailing my progress now! No WAY, no HOW! emoticon

Thanks for all of your comments on my photos and blog. We also use to tournament bass fish on the Westcoast current until they closed up shop. I heard that they are back open but as pro/non-pro fishermen/women and we liked to compete as a team. Clearlake, Almanor, Delta, Folsom, Berryessa, Oroville, Shasta lakes are some of our favorites. We fish for fun now. .... and still release 99% of them for someone else to enjoy catching. ... even that 10 pound bass my DH was holding. When you're ready to buy a bassboat, look on ebay as there can be some pretty good deals. Costs of new boats are outrageous.... almost as much as a new BMW. So glad to see a gal with a firearm...... that's right up my ally. Hope you had a great day.

Oh dear, I'm sure you could have found something much more exciting to do that read all my blogs...yes, it has been a long road, over a year, and I haven't always been my best self through it. BUT, I am doing great now, and the surgery has relieved the pain and I am soon to be back in the saddle once I get a clear day off! So it's all good! I just have to be careful - but that is kind of like telling a freight train to be delicate, in my case emoticon ...but I am trying. Learning body mechanics, moving safely and lifting safely, etc., have all made me more aware of protecting my back. I've had to learn that it's not a sign of laziness or weakness to let someone else do something or help. Thanks for being proud of me, but I just did what I had to do, and not always very elegantly, and my friends here all helped me through it so much, I can't imagine going through it without them! They are my saviors!
