Getting on in years does not mean that you have to keep going up a weight class each year. Thank God I am an active guy! I have always had a physically demanding job. With what my diet normally consisted of and a desk job I would probably be at a huge health risk. I never made the time to eat well untill I saw how well my wife was doing with Spark People. Now with making sure that I eat often and correctly the pounds are melting away.

Ok I have been at this for a short time and the results are great! This is the simplest diet I have ever seen. I was one who for years just accepted that I will have a spare tire and love handles. Well Sparkpeople has changed that and I will not accept anything less than fit and trim.

I entered and finished a half Ironman 20 years ago with no training. I have since then slowly slid down the old age comfort-zone slope. Well not anymore! I will start training for a full Ironman with a new confidence thanks to Sparkpeople.

My Goals:
I got started on this by watching the great success of my wife. I never believed that if I ate more I would lose weight. My goal is to eat enough each day. By all indications I am around 16 pounds overweight.

My Program:
I count all my calories and make sure I stay well balanced. I do heavy manual work each day so we did not think I needed to add any type of workouts. Adding bike rides, running, and swimming.
