I saw on the team huddle that you had joined our 50+ Members, High Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol Support Team so I thought I would stop by, say hi, and welcome you to the team. You will receive lots of support and encouragement from everyone. Just post any prayer requests, questions, comments or suggestions you may have and someone will respond quickly.
You have come to the right place. Take advantage of what Spark has to offer. I want to see you accomplish your goals. Stay focused and keep a positive attitude as this will be a great help to you in your daily life!!! Smile although sometimes that is the hardest, but it really helps!!! And, if nothing else, it makes people wonder what you're up to.
Remember to just take one day at a time on this journey of a lifetime. This journey consists of many small steps, a few speed bumps and pot holes, and a lot of fun. I will be here for you and try to help you on this journey to your goals. YOU can do this!!!
Commit yourself to constant self-improvement the joy is truly in the journey! You are creating a body that is strong and balanced!
Use your fitness and nutrition tracker daily. Watch your portion control. Be sure to drink plenty of water (8 - 8oz glasses a day) and walk. Water and walking will help you on this journey of weight loss and lowering numbers. Start small if that is all you can do or have time to do and add to it as you are able. Even 5-10 minutes several times a day adds up to bigger numbers and will keep you moving. Invest in a good pedometer (about $10) and see how many steps you currently take each day. Before long you will be adding steps just to see how many you can do and how far you can go. WHAT A GREAT MOTIVATOR!!! YOU can do this!!! I am disabled and this works for me. Take each day one small step at a time they'll add up over time.
You can make a choice. Tell that little voice to cease and desist with those negative thoughts. Introduce positive self-talk into your life today! You are creating a body that is strong and balanced! From your own efforts, you will make a difference, and you will feel good about yourself. You are a unique, beautiful, and rare individual the one and only you!
It's good to meet and have you with us.
God bless you on your journey to a healthier you. Take each day as it comes and enjoy it to the fullest!!!
    God's blessings to you.
    Hugs,
    Helen

"If you planted hope in a heart today in any hopeless heart,
If someone's burden was lighter because you did your part,
If you caused a laugh that chased a tear away,
If tonight your name is mentioned when someone kneels to pray,
Then your day was well spent."

I know you can do this if you DON'T QUIT. We Baby Boomers need to care for our health NOW, so it is great that you are here and working on that goal. Don't quit.
I'm sorry you lost your husband. Do this for you and your children, as you are right that kidney problems will happen because of High Blood Pressure. That is why I've stayed with this, because I don't want to have diabetes, etc.

I'm reading "SHRINK YOURSELF" by ROGER GOULD, M.D. on stopping emotional eating. He has a web site at www.shrinkyourself.com He was head of psychology at UCLA Medical Center. He says we can all lose weight, but 95% of us gain it back because of stress. I want to stop that cycle this time.

    Hi!

Welcome to sparkpeople! Congratulations on making the 1st step to your weightloss journey, or if you would prefer to call it "lifestyle change"!

I have a group which might be of interest to you. We are really nice bunch of people. "Are you really bigger than average or do you feel bigger because of the pressures of this world? WHO judges your weight? You or society? Share your views with other people who feel the same. "

If this interests you, pop in and say hello!

We have started a 2 week challenge so what better way to start your journey than to get stuck in! xx
