I started walking February 20, 2007 with the main purpose to grow closer to God. He has blessed that effort by helping me watch what I eat (especially cutting out the daily Cokes - and the chocolate), and eating more fruits and veggies. I walk each morning, trying to start by 4:30 a.m., and the time varies between 1-2 hours. It really depends on how drawn to my Bible study I am each day (how much time I think God is calling me to). I want to get down to 145 because I know I will feel and look better, and I am doing this for my Christian witness. Besides, I want to be around to see my sons marry and have families.
#1 goal - become more intimate with God: spend time daily with Him through prayer, reading His Word, memorizing scripture, worshiping through songs on the radio or CDs.
#2 - Have the body God intended me to have so that I can do EVERYTHING God intended me to do
#2 - Lose 2 pounds per week (burn or eat 500 cal. less than weekly needs per pound)
#3 - Weigh 200 by 11/16/07
#4 - Get rid of my big belly
#5 - Tone everything

I'm a native Albuquerquean (except 4 years in CO going to college, and about 9 months in AZ working a job). My husband and I have been married 23+ years, and we have three sons, 21, 19, and 13. I go by Ozark Mom because my 21 year-old spent two years there before God led him elsewhere, and now my 19 year-old is in his second year there.
I work as the Office Manager at a CPA office, teach 4 and 5 year-old Sunday School, sing in the church choir, serve as co-director of the leadership team of our Women's Ministry, and try to keep up with the activities of my family. That is one reason I get up so early to walk - besides, I like seeing millions of miles when I look at the stars.

Haven't heard from you in awhile, so just wanted to say hi and that I hope all is well. Due to adjusting to school starting, new fall schedule, etc. I've not been communicating myself much. Seems I've barely had time to record nutrition and fitness. Even so, I do hope you still feel my support as you continue toward your goals. God is with us in this and all our efforts to grow closer to Him.

Thank you so much for your encouragement! Today had a rough start, but I'm still on track! Though I've been tracking my calories each day, I've not found the time to do more with my sparkpage yet. A little each day...kind of like the weight loss, I guess. My next big challenge is to incorporate some consistent exercise. Thanks again for the support!

Thank you sweetie! You need to get your fanny over here and play some tennis with me and we will work off those extra pounds! My neice bought me a heart rate monitor and in 2.5 hours of playing I burned 2430 cals! She weighs 147 and she burned 1300! Its loads of fun and a great workout!
