Hi! I am a "40 something" mom in Ottawa Canada (and this is my first "page" of any kind - this is also my first attempt at losing weight and exercising...I have my fingers (and toes!) crossed).
I just saw this in a newsletter from my son's school...
PARABLE OF THE WOLVES
A chief was teaching his grandson about life...
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.
"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.
"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
"This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"
The old chief simply replied,
"The one you feed."

My first goal is to lose 10 lbs by March 20...perhaps another 5 or 10 after that(?).
NEW GOAL: maintain my weight between 130 and 135 from now until October 19
ORIGINAL: Eat less, move more. I am trying to stay under 1500 calories a day, to do cardio 3-4 times per week, and strength training 2-3 times per week.
NOW: +/-1700 calories per day; same cardio/strength.
I am a sort of stay at home mom (I work from home)!
