Old Glory 5K run

Hello!
My name is Dee and I live in Northern Minnesota. My goal is to get healthy and learn to stay that way.
My long term goal is to weight 154 lbs. and then re-evalutate
Right now what is big for my family is preparing for our first 5K run. We have chosen the Old Glory Run in Cold Springs, Minnesota. This event supports the Disabled Vets of Minnesota. What a great cause! Wish us luck!

Sharing a quote:
The scale is only a guide. If you stayed within your calorie range, you did not deposit any new fat on your body. Tell yourself that the scale can sometimes hold on to extra water, leading you to think that you are not making any progress. Before you go to bed, pat yourself on the back and tell yourself, "I stayed within my calorie range today; therefore I did not gain any fat." Tell yourself that and stay on plan.

Hi, Dee! The loss today was 2 weeks worth. Stress and less emotional eating is what attributed to this. I seem to play with 10 lbs for a long time. Have a great day!

Love, hugs and many blessings,

Penny

Seems like a smarter way to do it to me. That really is quite a jump. You are doing so awesome with this! Wish I could be there to cheer you on live! You are going to do such a great job on this 5k....

Hey Dee, weighed in and I was down 2! That is a woo hoo!!! Very excited. Your exercise plan sounds good. I hope the weather holds for you. That video your cousin posted of it snowing was pretty, but wow, it's mid April!! We are in a cooler streak, high sixties and low 70's for our days. Awesome! Did get up into the 80's yesterday afternoon though.
Hope your weekend is amazing. This is the weekend we play at the VA, so I will be there tomorrow. Then busy day at church Sunday, and the addictions group I volunteer with is having a potluck on Sunday afternoon for Easter. Egghunt for the kiddos and all that stuff. Should be a fun weekend here.

Thank you for the Easer goodie, and thanks for stopping by. I'm looking forward to gardening too. Hopefully it will be good exercise too. I missed out on it last year. There wasn't a good reason, I just didn't bother. My daughter had a great harvest though.

Hi! The Chamber buys and gets all the money from sales. They give our Parrot Head Club a couple thousand dollars a year because we volunteer for many activities all year long on the island. The money they give our club goes to local charities. It's a win win thing.
Our potatoes came up today and I'm so excited. We got a nice rain tonight and God's rain always does more than our watering! Hope you can get your garden in soon! Hugs!!
