I Will See it When I Believe it
I am 35 years old, living in southern Utah. February 26, 2013 will be my 6 year anniversary with SP. Where has the time gone?? I started this journey at 214 lbs. I've always struggled to maintain a healthy weight, and a couple of stressful years had led me to stop paying attention to my health. I found my way here... About 2 years after that, I had lost about 65 lbs. 65! That number still blows me away. I felt amazing and thought I'd finally made the changes in my life that would lead to a "forever" change. Ha. That's what I get for thinking I have control. Things got stressful again. Being 3 lbs. up turned into 5, turned into 7 or 8... At that point, I started to worry, maybe even panic a little. Was this going to be the end? The point where it all fell apart and I went back to re-gaining it all?? I was almost frozen with fear. I ended up, summer of 2011, four years after this journey began, having gained about 25 lbs. back of what I had originally lost. I was pretty disgusted with how far I'd let things go, but something in me finally woke up again and I started back on track. As I'm writing this Jan 2013, I'm at the top of my maintenance range (damn holidays) and am well on my way to losing a few more pounds to be back at a place where I'm really comfortable. Lessons learned? This is a lifelong journey--I don't get to ever fall asleep on taking care of myself. Always at the front of my mind. I feel better when I'm moving and when I'm eating right. I can be a positive influence on the heath of those around me. And there is ALWAYS more to learn. That's the joy of life.

My Goals:
1. Hold steady between 150-155 lbs. No excuses. 2. Get back to consistently tracking my food. Every day, for every meal. Stay within calorie range. 3. More strength training (specifics are a long story). 4. Reduce alcohol consumption. One day per week at most. I will not drink to fix my problems.
My Program:
Changed this up recently, as I received a TRX for Christmas (yay!) It'll be great as soon as I learn to use it more easily (boo) Regardless, 4 days per week, combination of cardio and strength. Usually a combo of bike and elliptical for cardio. Intervals to keep it interesting. Considering new options to fend off boredom.
Personal Information:
In April 2011, I, who has spent her entire life convinced she couldn't run, completed a half marathon (with the help of a friend I met here!) I grew up in NE Ohio and moved west in search of sunshine after I got done with school. I work with college students. This has been a journey of holistic wellness, as I've spent the last few years working on being emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually healthy, too. I was diagnosed with ADHD about a year and a half ago, and the follow-up to that diagnosis has changed my life. I love to travel and love to be outside. I like to read and learn new things (especially about learning, ironically enough).
Other Information:
Welcome to SP! If you haven't joined any teams or joined in on conversations yet, do it!! The support I've found here is a big part of my success so far.
