Fighting the Freshman 15

In high school, I was always in shape during my sports seasons. I considered myself healthy and active since I was a varsity athlete and a captain of my team. I am also a lifeguard and would receive compliments on how in shape I was. All of this changed during my freshman year of college. I did not realize that almost all dining hall foods were unhealthy. I also did not realize that it took work to maintain a healthy weight, so I barely ever frequented the gym during my first semester. ...
In high school, I was always in shape during my sports seasons. I considered myself healthy and active since I was a varsity athlete and a captain of my team. I am also a lifeguard and would receive compliments on how in shape I was. All of this changed during my freshman year of college. I did not realize that almost all dining hall foods were unhealthy. I also did not realize that it took work to maintain a healthy weight, so I barely ever frequented the gym during my first semester. After winter break, I realized that I was packing on the pounds rapidly, so I joined a sports team and practiced with the regularly. This only slowed my weight gain. I had yet to understand portion sizes during meals. Since the beginning of the year, I have put on 15 lbs. This is my breaking point. I am determined to lose the freshman 15.
