I'm 27, 5'4", 215lbs. I started losing weight in September and I've given myself one year to lose 70lbs (from my starting weight of 230). I'd like to buddy up with someone similar to my size and goals.

I was a healthy 150lbs, able to get out and dance for hours all weekend long and walk everywhere I went. Now I have been diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome due to complications with medication. So I am trying to get back to a healthy weight and maintain it with a new - better - lifestyle.

Metabolic Syndrome is a combination of excess belly fat, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high blood glucose, and high levels of hormones like cortisol. For me, it was the result of taking antipsychotic medication, but it can happen for a variety of reasons. If you don't take care of Metabolic Syndrome early on, it can lead to diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and so many other health problems. Fortunately, Metabolic Syndrome is curable/reversible, with a healthy diet and regular exercise. No extra medication or treatment needed.

I mostly want encouragement to fill out my daily journal and track my food and exercise with the sparkpeople Diet and Calorie Tracker app.

I started tracking on Fitbit in September, but my computer is now broken and I can't log in every day to track on the website, so I'm now going to use the sparkpeople app on my phone and see if it helps me stay on track.

You've already gotten a good start and seem to have a healthy plan (I've read your introduction on the class team), so I KNOW you can do this; you can meet your goals.
