I'm a single dad, raising two teenagers, and am also a social worker who supervises a program working with consumers receiving mental health services. My life is about service and always helping others, so very little is left for me. The pinnacle of fitness for me was in my early to mid 30's when I was in the best shape of my life, but now I'm 41. My weight can fluctuate easily, but I want to get back to where I was and stay there. For me, it's about being healthy and looking good!

•Stick around to see my grandkids grow up •Do more active things with my spouse/siginicant other
•Start, or improve my dating scene
Everyday Signs and Situations: I want to:
•Be more confident in myself, with better self esteem •Be able to tie my shoes
•Have people ask if I have lost weight •Prove to myself that I can do it.
According to the BMI, I am obese. To be in a normal range, I am supposed to be in the neighborhood of 150 lbs. I have tried various ways of eating with varying degress of success. I like alot of food, so low carb served me well; however, I know that Weight Watchers is a healthier way to lose, but sometimes I feel I don't get enough food. If I'm super stressed, it's hard for me to get motivated to go to the gym, so one goal there is to continue on despite my stressors.
I'm supposed to be consuming between 1500 and 1850 calories per day. I work out at Planet Fitness, doing a variety of things from the treadmill, eliptical, stairmaster, free weights, and Cybex, and will also run outside in the summer.
I closely follow my nutrition and fitness trackers and run my calorie differential report.
I tried WW, but feel Sparkpeople gives me more control over how I handle my eating lifestyle.

I really love music, going out to clubs to dance, working at the YMCA, working outside in the garden. I enjoy landscaping, and renovating my home. Cooking, especially for others is my passion!
