My name is Aimee and I am here to take advantage of every opportunity I can. I have been on this site before and it has really helped me, so I came back to get my life in order.
I need to lose weight because I am considered obese. I am not happy with my level of fatigue and my poor eating habits. I just want to be healthy and happy and be able to really live.

After being away for awhile and trying it on my own, I'm BACK! I fired my personal trainer for 2 reasons: 1) He doesn't inspire me. He gives me nothing to work for, no goals, no inspiration. 2) No matter how hard I work, he always thinks the fact that I can't lose weight is because of "what I eat". After speaking to a friend who is now half his size, the friend made a statement : "If they've never been overweight, they just don't understand". That hit me. And now I want to lose this weight, become a healthy and confident person, and help others lose the weight. Eventually I think I might want to be a personal trainer.


***I love this lady's story. It just makes you want to cheer for her while sitting at your computer. Margie from Madison, Wisconsin weighed 296 pounds when she started walking in her neighborhood. She says she started by walking about half a block twice a day and that it was incredibly difficult at first.

After the second day she had decided to quit but a neighbor encouraged her to continue. Every day she walked the same route but added a little distance each week. She says there were many days when she wanted to quit, but she wanted very badly to lose weight and be healthy. After several months the people in her neighborhood started noticing her consistency and her progress and started giving her compliments and words of encouragement. She said that after a few months of walking, it went from painful to enjoyable.

About ten months into her walking program, she began her morning walk as usual, but she noticed people out in their yards. As she passed each yard they were clapping and cheering for her, "go Margie", "we're proud of you Margie", "congratulations Margie!" She said tears of happiness flowed through her entire walk that morning as over a hundred people cheered her on all along her route! Be encouraged!

Things I've Learned...

1) If you make too much, don't pile it all on your plate and say "I'm going to want seconds later so I might as well go ahead and put it on my plate". Listen to your body. If you finish your meal and are still truly hungry, get seconds. But now you are exerting energy by getting back up for those seconds.

2) Use saucers instead of large plates. If you think you just ate a "whole" plate, you'll fill up. Trust me, this actually works for me.

My Goals:
I don't ever want to be one of those people they show on the news. You know where they go to a public place a film overweight people from the neck down.

I don't want to feel like everyone is watching me eat.

I want to be able to walk my mile and not be in so much pain.

I want someone to ask if I've lost weight.

I want to run in a race.

I want to be able to shop for clothes and the clothes actually fit in all the right places.

My Program:
I....
*just got a new wii with weight loss games...
*will go to my gym twice a week....
*will get out for at least a mile walk once a week....
*will drink 8 glasses of water....
*will plan my meals better....
*will not sit on the internet all evening, I will find a reason to move....
*will not be hungry....ever...
