In the past couple of years I have been diagnosed with 4 pain conditions - FMS, Allodynia, Arthralgia and Neuropathy. I have a spinal injury which occurred at age 10 (but never pinpointed till age 41) and also sustained 5 herniated discs and arthritis in my spine. It is a challenge finding the fine line between the right amount of activity and going beyond that - which often results in prolonged periods of immobility. This has impacted adversely on my ability to exercise, and my weight has crept up as a result.

I am now trying to eat more consciously and be more aware of portion control. Like many Spark Page members, I do love my food.

I love meeting new friends, so feel free to stop by and say hello.

My Goals:
Movement as often as possible.

Keep focusing on the positives.

Treat myself well, and focus on taking the small steps, one at a time.

My Program:
Being mindful of portion control.

Move my body as much as I can within limits.

Never give up.

Personal Information:
I was born and live in the lovely South Australian city of Adelaide again, after spending 8 years in Hobart and 4 in Melbourne.

Other Information:
I love animals, and lost my beloved cat Coco aged 17, in December 2009.

My interests include travel (reading, TV shows and DVDs) since I am a bit restricted in getting about; occasional bursts of creativity (writing, art); reading; photography; and I am an Anglophile who would love to visit the UK one day...

Inspirational Quote:

People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward spiral that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Thanks Nataccia so much for your support and insight on my blog. I admire you so much for staying positive and giving real help to people! I belong to a book club, and it has been a GREAT way to meet some wonderful woman (and to talk about things other than work!)
Hugs from,
Alison

p.s. You are a really good SparkFriend!

Dear Nattacia, You are correct, that song was written for Arjay so I was also able to convey the love Mary had for Joseph. Thank you for all your kind words on the blog as a whole. I appreciate it so much. emoticon

I just read your comment on the video blog. Thanks so much. Glad you liked it. emoticon

Thank you for reading the blog but no need to apologize. There is life out side Spark! I understand. Recovery is coming along slowly but surely. The hardest part for him is starting to eat and to know he'll be ok with eating now. Takes a while for that fear of choking to pass. emoticon emoticon
