I'm trying to live a healthier life, exercise, eat right, lose weight, then maintain it, and lower my Cholesterol. I'm looking for all the support I can get and I'm glad my friend told me about Sparkpeople! I'm a Zumba fanatic! :)

My Goals:
I would like to get to my goal weight of 155 lbs. by the end of the year, but I would just generally like to get in better shape physically and get my Cholesterol to an acceptable level! I would like to keep ramping up my exercise, getting stronger and having more endurance!


My Program:
Walking at least five days a week for at least 35 minutes (with my doggie), getting at least five hours of Zumba in at the gym weekly, playing tennis with my friend as much as possible, watching my portions and measuring them out, eating low-carb and good-carb, and lean protein, drinking my water, and getting enough fruits and veggies, which is the hardest thing for me to do! I need to add some strengthening exercises, too.



Personal Information:
I'm a city girl who moved to the country as a college kid, and never really left. I'm one of seven children, and we are scattered across the globe. I wish I could see my family more. Marriage made me a wife, mother and grandmother all in the same day, and this year I can add greatgrandmother to that list. My life is good with my husband!

    My ticker went backwards this week because my weight went from 192.6 back up to 195.5 from eating the junk foood we serve in our concessions trailer. NO-NO-NO!!! This "chick" has got to get my page's ticker going in the right direction again! emoticon

    It was nice to meet you too, Kat. And Margaret. I'm glad Mom has some good buddies down south to help in her weight loss. I loved SP, but needed more accountability, so joined WeightWatchers a few weeks ago. They have Etools, which is set up a lot like SP, but I still like coming back to SP to check out articles, read the success stories (that really motivates me), and see how I'm doing on eating....since I don't really count cals, carbs, fat, and protein anymore...just points. I love that this site I free and has helped so many people....just wished I'd had enough self accountability and motivation to make it work. But I think WWs is definitely the program for me. Tried TOPS for a little over a year and it just didn't work. They ppl at my group were more there for social hour than weight loss support....so I had to leave. Glad to see you @ SP....good luck on the weightloss. You can do it when you have good support and workout buddies.
