Hello! I'm a wife and stepmom of two living in upstate NY. I want to improve my overall health -- lose weight, sleep more, reduce stress, and be more active. I plan to try to conceive in the next year or two and would like to lose weight before I do in order to have a healthy pregnancy. This is not a short-term means to an end, though. This is a lifestyle change.

I have vowed to enjoy this journey, because if that's no fun it will make it that much harder to keep on it!

Everyday I am improving my health, my looks, and my well-being. I am getting stronger in every way.

My Goals:
*Get my bike road-ready and get back to cycling
*Get healthy and drag my family along with me

My Program:
I've been incorporating small changes, a few at a time. My focus right now is on stress reduction, reducing portion sizes, keeping hydrated, and moving more!

I am not "on a diet" -- I enjoy delicious healthy food and do not feel deprived. The weight I have lost has come from making smarter and more mindful food choices and from increasing my physical activity.

Personal Information:
I love outdoor activities, especially hiking and cycling.

I walk almost everyday at my favorite park or sometimes at the track.

I love traveling, going to concerts, reading, knitting, and cooking.

But if you still want to use your bike, here's what I use when the weather turns cold: http://www.kurtkinetic.com/ (bike trainer).

It's great, because I just hook it up to my normal bike where ever I want and pedal away.

Hi! I saw your post on the exercise thread in the Done Girls forum. Just wanted to mention that I use a stride cycle because of my limited space. Its a great way to go bicycling without the cost or clutter of a stationary bike!
