Keeping On Track

I've lost 100 pounds by myself. I didn't get much support from friends and family while I was losing. Now that I'm working on maintenance, I'm always looking for ways to keep my motivation up. I keep hearing that most people who lose weight, gain it all back.....I don't want to be one of them.

I follow the diabetic diet....even though I'm not diabetic. They have you track net carbs. I didn't think about that part when I posted on the message board. My calorie range is about 1400 - 1500. I hope I have helped you.

Posted this also in the thread: lowering carbs.

How are you able to keep it that low Onesoftblonde?

When I don't eat cake or whatever, just with my fruit, vegetables, pasta/rice and bread (all whole) I am always over 180.

What is your calorie range? Because that is the only thing I can come up with that you can have it that low. My range for carbs is 182-263. So I try to stay at my lower end.

Looking forward to your response!

Just noticed your posting on log in page of Maintainers. Since I hadn't noticed your "handle" before I checked your SPage. What an inspiration to have lost 100# without much support. That is the best thing about SP, the support. But as you've noticed the last few #'s are the hardest. And altho you have come so far, you don't feel like an inspiration most days. Just keeping hanging in there and plodding along. We'll get there and stay!!
We;ve come too far not to. Brenda

Shelly, thanks for your comments. I know how hard it is to get motivated and stay that way. Sparkpeople is the best place to get help. I know it's intimidating to look around and feel like the only overweight person, but you have to believe in yourself. Never give up. I'm not going to tell you that it's easy...because it's not. But, I will tell you that it IS worth it. I know that if I could do it, you can too. Try to not look at the whole amount you need to lose. Just take it one day at a time. Build on your little successes. Stay consistent. Most important.....Be Kind To Yourself!!
