Making Me the Me I want to be...

This is my journey of self-transformation. I have many goals, first and foremost to live a healthy, joyous and meaningful life. All of my other goals- to become an optimist, to lose weight, to stop chewing my fingernails, to be a great mother and wife, to get into great physical shape, to get in great financial shape, etc. are pieces of the overall goal and geared to help me become the best person I can be...

My Goals:
1. Finsh round 2 of INSANITY
- done
2. Complete Les Mills COMBAT
done
3. Meet my weight goal
4. Be a better, more positive mom and wife
5. Have my healthiest year yet
6. Finish Round 3 of Insanity.
7. Finish TapOut XT next.

My Program:
I am currently in my 3rd round of INSANITY with some Les Mills COMBAT thrown in for fun (and because I like punching with the gloves on!), as well as using Spark People trackers. I am obsessed with the positivity of these programs! Also have used Hip Hop Abs, the FIRM Express and Tony Little's HealthRider Twist on this journey. I highly recommend all of these programs!

Personal Information:
My name is Nancy and I'm a clinical pharmacist with the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, WI. I am married with 3 daughters (7, 5 and 21 months) for whom I want to set a good example of a lifestyle that ishealthy and whole.
I was never athletic growing up, so I've had to work very hard to figure this out as I go. I gained a LOT of weight with each pregnancy, so have lost between 50-90 pounds after each. Not proud of gaining so much, but happy with myself for getting rid of it!

Hey Nancy. Glad to hear that you are enjoying Tap Out XT so far! I am a little surprised that you are so sore also with as much as you have done but maybe I shouldn't be. After all that I had done, Combat made me sore too at first. I think it is a combo of different moves that work different muscles and what you said about knowing technique and you push yourself harder. Plyo XT is no joke but Combat Plyo made my legs hurt every time!

Why are these extreme programs so addicting? Why do we put ourselves through the torture? lol. Umm, I would say it is part we know it will show results if we just do it and part feeling like a conquering hero when you finish the program lol! I still find it a little hard to believe every once in a while that I have finished Insanity, Tap Out, P90x, and Combat! Crazy!

What am I doing next? Well, I almost started Asylum but I decided not to. Then I almost started Turbo Fire but didn't want to commit to 140 days of a program! Crap, that is a long time!

In the end, I decided to do my own hybrid of the 4 programs I have already done. I made out a schedule of a 100 day hybrid with a mix the hardest ones from all 4! Sunday was Day 1 and it was P90x Yoga X. Day 2 is Tap Out Buns & Guns and Combat Core Attack. I am doing Yoga twice a week, cardio twice a week, arms once, legs, once, and a core based only once a week. We will see how it goes but I am looking forward to seeing how this goes! I think if I stick with it, I will see some really good results. It will be hard, I made sure of it!

I went to the Derby in 2010 & 2011 but I did not go the last two years. It is a lot of fun but I just couldn't make it with kid obligations the last two years. You went 10-12 years ago? Hmm. I worked at Churchill Downs in 2001 for the Derby. Could have seen you lol.

The infield is a blast! That is where I was in 2010 & 2011. They still do allow a lot of the party type stuff but I know they have cracked down on a few things. If you get the chance, you should definitely go again!

Thank you Nancy for your really nice comments on my "falling down" blog. I really appreciate the support from you now, and in the past.

I really think that I just got complacent and lost focus on my goals. I fell back into some old habits that I am not proud of but I think it has really helped me to focus again. I wasn't going to write a blog about what I had gone through because I like to try and stay positive. Plus, I think there are people who wonder how "easy" my success has come over the last year and I wanted to share that it isn't always sunshine and unicorns! It is hard. There are potholes. I wanted to be honest and let everyone know what I was going through because I figured that people could relate.

I hope I can soak in your attitude about the "right girl" who will come along. I mean, I know you're right but I really do question that at times because it really doesn't feel like it. Maybe you can send some of those vibes out for me and that "right girl" can pick up on them, lol ;) Patience is key since it doesn't happen when we want it to. I will concentrate on my good friends and children and just go from there.

Thank you again!
