Life changes when you least expect it!

I used to worry and feel that being thin was the most important issue in my life. I worked hard to get there. In one afternoon, I overpowered my pelvis and lost by bodies coping mechanism to walk. It changed my life fully and has changed my priorities. Now my goal is to be able to go to a store and shop, to sit at a restaurant and eat and to hike again someday.
As for weight my plan is to stay where I am and enjoy the occasional treat, to do the exercises I can and accept the setbacks ...

April 1, 2013 Update:I have to make drastic changes to the food plan. I have stayed within it and have gained all but 15 pounds back eating withn the program. My movement ability is so little that the mount of time, between 40-130 minutes, doesn't count for squat calorie wise.My exercise doesn't burn even 100 calories. They don'tmake walking charts for less than 1 mph and I read PT burns very little. Food had been something I enjoyed and the high end was manageable, when I used to be able to really sweat up an exercise, but now I am gaining two pounds a month. I am going to struggle to eat 1300-1400 calories for a month and see if I will start losing.
Unfortunately, it adds one more struggle to my life which I am struggling hard with now- in general!!!

UPDATE: May 2013- Returning to Vail for consulting with neck issues and more therapy.

My Goals:
To lose 3-8 pounds
Get my parents to go on a date without me
To find fun activities.

I have been part of SP since 17 March 2009. I went. By attheinlet back then when my health took a serious downturn so did my feelings. And you know the saying if you have nothing nice to say, well I was in a bad frame of mind and didn't want to pass it on so I changed my name to onbeachside and just used the trackers and kept up with only a couple folks while I figured out were life was taking me.

My Program:
Since major surgery, I have had to change goals. I wish I would lose about ten pounds but I don't see it happening.

My physical activity involves a morning 35-45 minute physical therapy session followed by a 40 minute walk later in the day. I can no longer repeat the same in the afternoon. It is a reality for me physically of what I can actually do without getting into uncontrolled pain. I do the best I can but the exercises probably doen't burn 100 calories. Since I barely exercise, I can't drop weight without making serious changes in my diet. Since food tastes are one of my few enjoyments now, I have decided I'd rather be 8 lbs heavier and have the occasional treat than eat just to live and not get to enjoy my food.

When I joined SP a few years ago as attheinlet I was burning 3700 calories a week, so this is tough not getting to eat what I want.

Personal Information:
I am a 47 single woman with serious back and pain issues. I can walk 20-25 minutes and need a wheelchair for anything further. But I can't stand sitting so the chair isn't much of an issue.

Life is...
...and the beat goes on!

Other Information:
I had serious life and death surgery 23 January 2012. I have come back a super long ways. However I am a super long way from where I was prior to this last injury.

I am about 20% of my life before 14 Sept 2010. I won't know my full potential recovery for two years from surgery. Set backs come and go as does positivity.

Thanks so much for your kind words and advice. The neuro appointment did not go well. The PA told me "Doctor is very conservative and will not do surgery on someone your age. We don't manage pain." So I'm going to make an appt with the primary to get a referral to pain management until I can find something to actually help :-( Thank you for understanding! It is so hard to find people who do. Hope you are having a good day :-) *hugz*
