CHAOS ABOUNDS!! OMEOWOFFICER ON PATROL!!!
2011: It's a brand new me and I have to say my secret is that I took care of ME! I was in the BLC awhile back and was admin with Yo (Yo~Meow rocks!) for what, 3 or 4 rounds?!? I dunno but I do know that during my time with BLC I met some of the BEST people! The problem I did have was I spent too much time captaining my winning teams (yep, I was the winningest cappy with a 5 for 5 record of a team win each time I cappied). And yes, that may seem like bragging, so what, I DID IT and made the best darn teams and promoted healthy weightloss all along. BUT - the problem I had was I gave up too much of the "me" time and didn't make the progress I should've. So I took my "me" time and am now not only back in Onederland but I kicked it's A$$! I'm in the 170's now and only a few pounds away from my healthy weight. So hear this ... don't ever be afraid to take your "me" time. STOP the yo-yo'ing of the same pounds over and over. I see the same people here doing the same thing, losing the same pounds just to see their name in lights, how lame is that? You should be doing this for your health and nothing more {steps off soapbox}. I think the world of BLC and know they are the best Spark team out there. Use the tools to get healthy and lose the weight for good and make some awesome friends! 2009 ... here's a bit about me and my journey. I was basically normal weight until college and then the pounds started creeping up (and more than just the usual freshman 15!) I didn't become officially overweight until I was about 26 and that's when the weight all went to my belly. But at 5'8", I actually looked pretty "normal" as long as I didn't tuck in my shirt! I've been working on living a healthy lifestyle on & off since then and it has been a struggle. A few years ago my Dr told me I have PCOS (not sure what took them so long! I had ALL the symptoms since I was 18 years old!!) Anyway, it just makes it that much harder to lose weight. Once I was over 200 pounds, I stopped doing lots of things like visiting friends, attending reunions, etc. and once I hit my max of about 272 I hated going out altogether or putting much effort into my appearance at all (since I felt it just didn't do any good). I've started and restarted my exercise weight loss journey many times and did break into Onederland June 2008 while training for the Anchorage Marathon (which unfortunately resulted in a stress fracture, check out my souvenior crutches in my pics ;-). I struggle most with my food choices (it seems to be all or nothing) so exercise has been the thing that saves me. But since the stress fracture and then work crazy busy mid-December thru mid-January, I've been completely out of sorts. So here I am again, back up around 230 staring in the mirror and I'm not happy! But, I have found my motivation again, and I WILL get back to Onederland, especially since I know Spark and all you fabulous people have my back! ~ Debbie
