Hello to all of you! I was always slim. Not anymore! I'm 62 now and have a severe form of fibromyalgia which means I am in pain constantly. I have medication for it, but it increases hunger so I have put on a few pounds (okay more than a few!) I also have a heart condition called cardiomyopathy which contributed to my fear of dying should I decide to move my ass. My heart condition is 98% healed now, so I am ready to lose the extra weight that is literally wearing me down and making me feel unattractive. I am single and divorced for over 20 years. My children are all grown and I love them to pieces.
I write for a living besides creating handmade jewelry and I work part time in an assisted living center/hotel as a desk clerk. I am fully retired, so have lots of time to enjoy my five rescued dogs and I enjoy my sweet little garden snakes and all the birds, squirrels and rabbits and I encourage them to come live in a safe environment I created for them by growing plants and bushes with berries, and by offering lots of hiding places where they can eat, nest and live out their lives naturally. I think my biggest problem in losing weight is I am an emotional eater and I can't seem to get past that, but after reading some of the success stories here, water seems to be the biggest route to mobilizing fat loss. So cheers! and bottoms up!

Hi Paula - Been quite a while and wanted to see how you are doing. I am starting over again - would you like to join me? My fibro is up and down. I went through a full year of really mild pain but it must have been in some sort of remission because this year has just been awful. Decided to get back to tracking my food and getting in the pool at the gym at least 3 times a week to start.

Hope you are doing well. Everytime I use coconut oil or drink coconut milk or coconut water, I think of you. I have found that drinking at least 1 green smoothie at day has been a help.
    Well, take care!

Hi there girlfriend - haven't been a good Spark People lately but working on it again. Just wanted to thank you for the coconut oil thing, I have been cooking with it and it has definitely helped. In addition to that, I have found that when we do the things we are supposed to, we don't hurt as much or at least I don't. I started eating more protein, fruits, and vegetables and no white stuff and of course, no sugar and I have felt so much better. I also weaned myself off most of my drugs and now feel more in control of myself and my body with little brain fog which is a wonderful feeling. Not to say that I don't have some pain but it has been minimal and that has been such a blessing.
Hope this finds you doing well. Shoot me a line when you get a chance.
    Take care,
    Lib
