On an Endless Journey

My weight likes to go up. Sometimes it goes down, but it takes a lot of work. I've been struggling with my weight for about 15 years now, it just creeps up higher and higher. I started Weight Watchers about 6 years ago and lost 20 pounds (yay!). I stopped, and gained some of the weight back. Had another good run 3 years ago and hit an 8 year low. Backtracked and then some over the last few months, and am at an all time high. So now I'm trying yet again. Stress, emotion and time are my two biggest enemies. My husband likes to comment on how easily I make excuses, so that's going to be something for me to work on. I just need to make a permanent lifestyle change if I want to win this war and be ready to fight for the rest of my life.

My Goals:
I want to be a healthy weight, I'm only aiming for the top of my weight range. I'm 4'10", so any extra weight shows! I also want to be more content with myself. And of course, I want to be healthy.

To go to others for support when I feel alone.

To not let my depression get the best of me.

To get out of the house - it's better for me!

To commit myself fully, and not let stress, laziness or depression get in my way.

To get my cholesterol and BMI into healthy range.

My Program:
I was successful on Weight Watchers, so I am watching my points on a plan similar to South Beach phase 2.

Going to the gym. 3 days a week, working up to 5. Starting my just going, then working up to specific goals.

Take it one day at a time. One mistake doesn't ruin a day, one ruined day doesn't ruin the whole week. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going.



Personal Information:
I am from San Diego CA, but currently live in the Baltimore MD area. Almost 10 years, and I'm still not used to the weather. Humidity kicks my asthma in high gear, which makes exercise difficult. But the more I do it, the easier it gets. And I love those days that aren't humid!

I love photography, and recently got a DSLR. While I'm not very good at it (yet), it's something I look forward to spending time on. Mostly I take pictures of my little girl - talk about a moving target!

Other Information:
My current motto - You have to work hard everyday to see success. But you won't see success every day.
