Just had my 50th birthday and decided I wanted to look forward and see a bright future rather than look for the end that I knew was near.
.I have several health conditions so I believe this will be a challenge. I have doctors, specialist, nurse practitioners you name it and each one giving me different advice." Don't bother to loose weight as it is not the cause of your problem" "Loose the weight but don't use Atkins because that is what damaged your heart.""Use Atkins as you will not have to work as hard to take the weight off""Then there is the neurosurgeon..." DON'T exercise.. you have no discs in certain areas and you are just grinding bones together making it worse".. or as his NP tells me.. "
exercise exercise exercise .".

What is a girl to do.. I have been dealing with this since a car accident in 1997. To date, I have had the honor of being diagnosed with A-fib/RVR, COPD, Spinal/disc issues (Degenerative disc disease, Radiculopathy and stenosis in cervical and lumbar areas along with bone spurs at c5 and L5
and L4 ) nerve damage in neck and back and arms and leg. Exercise is going to be very limited, but will try and do what I can. I hope to learn from those of you who have similar issues can give me some guidance . My goal, even more than the loss of weight is to reduce the number of medications I currently take. If I am truly blessed, maybe someday I can get off of disability and back to work.. I need your prayers .

My Goals:
My main goal is to minimize my dependence on medications. I hope to regain some of my mobility and to reduce chronic pain. I hope to live to see my children marry and give me grandbabies...and if.. God willing.. watch my grandbabies grow up.

My Program:
My Program.. good question.. I am starting out with three small meals and three snack meals a day. I am aiming at non processed foods. fresh or frozen fruit and veggies.. sounds so simple on paper.. but when I am down for the day, it is hard to put the burden of taking care of me onto my husband..

Eat healthy foods in moderation, avoid the "goodies" or rather replace them with new goodies.. like yogurt popsicles..Feel free to offer opinions

Personal Information:
Now for the fun part.. the about me.. I am a 50yr old woman who on some days does not know top from bottom, so I just watch for the bubbles and follow them. I have two adult children A beautiful daughter who is 25 and a LPN and a Handsome son who is a manager at a trendy store. They have both always been my rock in a storm. I am divorced for 15yrs and have been in a committed relationship for just as long with a wonderful man.
I have been on disability for just over a year now as I can not count on my functionality on any given day. I have a house full of pets.. even though I am supposed to have just 6; I have two cats, 2small dogs and one large energetic pup who is larger than all my other pets added together... When you hear me speaking of my dog Wrotten. That would be him..50lbs at 5monts. He is going to be my exercise buddy.

Other Information:
Last but no least.. I am a book lover.. I read EVERYTHING I can get my hands on.. I also am starting to learn how to embroider and crochet. Photography is a passion I just discovered and I have hopes it will help it will get me out of the house more. Last for now, is scrapbooking.

Hello there!! I added you as a friend, and would love you to add me back! Where are you from, in Oklahoma?? I was born in Durant, OK, and lived for most of my life in a very small town, 30 minutes from there, called Milburn! I am a proud Okie, but I moved to Kansas in January of 2011, to live with my boyfriend! I hope to hear from you soon, and look forward to getting to know you! :o)
