The Lazy Frau

There's this saying I learned in German class that pretty much sums up my life so far:

"Morgen, Morgen, nur nicht heute, sagen alle faulen Leute."
('Tomorrow, tomorrow, just not today,' is what all the lazy people say.)

Here's hoping I can change that.

What interests me most in linguistics is etymology and morphology. Yes, I was the nerdy little kid who used to read the dictionary just to see where the words came from. Am I a freak or what? In my undergrad linguistics class (my school only offered one), I did my paper on the morphology of French out of Vulgar Latin. Yep, total geek.

And hey, congrats on getting the new trophy!

Hey! I saw you response on the "green" thread and I was going to ask you how you were liking buying local foods. We've just started doing it ourselves this year and boy are the kids having a time adjusting! I noticed you got a BA in linguistics. Mind telling me where you went to school? I've been seriously thinking about doing some graduate studies in linguistics myself.

Hey there! So just FYI - you're pretty much me about 7 years ago! I started out double majoring in Deutsch and Linguistics and then changed to Deutsch and Secondary Ed!

And I tell my students your favorite quote almost every day! Here's a new one for ya: Morgen Stund' hat gold im Mund. (Kind of like the early bird gets the worm)

Suzanne
