These are my very last french fries! Goodbye, fries!
An impromptu improv show - this is my weight loss Starting Line.
Me and Forty-Two, the biggest great dane puppy ever (he's only 6 weeks old in this pic!).
There's this saying I learned in German class that pretty much sums up my life so far:
"Morgen, Morgen, nur nicht heute, sagen alle faulen Leute."
('Tomorrow, tomorrow, just not today,' is what all the lazy people say.)
Here's hoping I can change that.
+ to be able to shop for any clothes I want when I go to Germany this fall,
+ to be able to wear tank tops and bikinis confidently, aaand
+ to progress as far as I can in Taekwondo.
MWF = 30-45 minutes strength training.
TR = 45-60 minutes taekwondo.
Sat/Sun = FUN DAY! Hiking, hunting, fishing, swimming, yada yada yada...
I'm a recent college grad with a B.A. in Linguistics and a B.A. in German. I'm travelling to Germany in the fall to teach English to little German kids. I love to act, learn new languages, and bake (oh so healthy, right?).
My favorite quotes are:
" 'Morgen, Morgen, nur nicht heute,' sagen alle faulen Leute." ('Tomorrow, tomorrow, just not today,' is what all the lazy people say.)
"Was du heute kannst besorgen, das verschiebe nicht auf morgen" (Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today.)

What interests me most in linguistics is etymology and morphology. Yes, I was the nerdy little kid who used to read the dictionary just to see where the words came from. Am I a freak or what? In my undergrad linguistics class (my school only offered one), I did my paper on the morphology of French out of Vulgar Latin. Yep, total geek.
And hey, congrats on getting the new trophy!

Hey! I saw you response on the "green" thread and I was going to ask you how you were liking buying local foods. We've just started doing it ourselves this year and boy are the kids having a time adjusting! I noticed you got a BA in linguistics. Mind telling me where you went to school? I've been seriously thinking about doing some graduate studies in linguistics myself.

Hey there! So just FYI - you're pretty much me about 7 years ago! I started out double majoring in Deutsch and Linguistics and then changed to Deutsch and Secondary Ed!
And I tell my students your favorite quote almost every day! Here's a new one for ya: Morgen Stund' hat gold im Mund. (Kind of like the early bird gets the worm)

Hey you! I wanted to let you know about a little town we got going... "Leaving 160-ville" No religion or politics. Just a place where we hold each other to our goals and run each other the heck out of town! It's just getting started. Come be a founding member! I'm next door in 170ville, but could see you soon!
