I joined sparkpeople nearly a year ago. I lost very little weight in the first 2 months but hung in there and after 5 months I was down 35lbs. Then nothing, month after month. I ended up gaining 5 of it back. Now after that 5 month long plateau I am finally starting to lose a little weight again. This is by far one of the toughest battles but together we can do this. One day at a time, one step at a time, one pound at a time.
I'm so glad you stopped by my page...THAT'S ENCOURAGING!!!!! I do understand about the lack of motivation after working out and not seeing results.
It took me YEARS and YEARS to put on all this weight, the fact that I've lost ANY is a teeny miracle. Last week, I weighed 10#s less. Today, I'm BACK UP..ugh, oh ugh-a-mundo. I'm watching my caloric intake, drinking water, and working out DAILY....I just found out that now that I'm working out daily, muscle tend to absorb water, so you'll weigh more. OK-I'll TAKE THAT EXCUSE, er....reason.
Since I've been using the online tape measure, I can SEE that I'm getting smaller. That 1/4 inch, then the 1/2 inch, are REALLY motivating. Takes all I have to get on the scale now that I'm weighing more. SO...I REFUSE to step on the scale for the rest of the week. THAT IS MY NEW GOAL!!!!!
Sign into the site, come join me in our fight of the bulge. I am jello and jiggle while I work out...but at least I'm getting out there and doing something good for myself. My pants are starting to get loose around my legs...HELPS to have pants that now FINALLY fit and don't cause a red ugly welt around my belly.
