"Then he said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it."

...Just trying to take up my Cross Daily...

I played football all the way through college, so it was ok to be big, in fact it was a necessity. I went to graduate school and continued to lift weights and eat whatever and always concerned myself with other things more than health. I left graduate school and continued the same path.
It wasn't until I got on an elliptical to do some cardio at the gym that I had to hit "weight: 289" that it kinda hit me just how big I truly was. I've always hidden behind my strength. I might be big, but I could bench a ton etc. But I then asked myself; what did I need the strength for?

I decided then to start to lose weight even at the cost of my strength (which was inevitable). It's a long hard battle of which I'm only in the middle of. There are days that I am on top of the world, and others where I cannot sink any lower, but that's life and losing weight is no exception.

I love fast food, I love candy (sour patch kids especially) I love beer and wine, I love all the things that are counter productive to health and my mission. But I'm worth the sacrifice. I'm worth the time put in, I'm worth the scrutiny, and I'm worth the trials.

Music Lyrics:

"If the sky turns black, it don't matter
We know the sun is coming up
Built so strong it won't shatter
We were born to run"

"I will not Bow, I will not Break, I will shut the world away"
-Breaking Benjamin

"Will you come with me?
Will you stand with me?
Would you follow me?
Would you believe with me?
Tell me you'll bleed with me
Tell me you'll die with me
Come on, come on
Let me hear your war cry"

You had commented on my lighthouse picture, I just found your comment, so apologies for not answering back when I should have. The picture is of the Dungeness Spit Lighthouse.
It's in Washington State and a Dungeness is a crab. Not nearly as big as a Snow crab or king crab but so much tastier because it isn't so big. Like lobster, the bigger they are, the less taste they have.

Dungeness are just the right size. Blue crabs, a lot smaller than the Dungeness (at least the ones I've seen) are easier to eat because you get a lot of meat from under the shell and the legs are big enough you get plenty of meat from them, too. To me, the best is always, Dungeness!

    Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for your comment on my Lighthouse picture. The light house is the New Dungeness Spit Lighthouse in Washington State. I was born and raised there and moved to FL about 10 years ago. Miss the Pacific, the mountains, the sound, the forests and the rivers and hills, but surviving in the sun of FL.

    Thanks
