Here I am back again! My name is Darlene I am 51 years old..I have been on Spark people several times and have success for short periods..but life happens and I lose myself and gain the weight back....the last tme I was on I was doing it for my grand daughter....I realize as much as I love her this is something I NEED to do for myself...no one else....for me alone and I need to take it one moment at time...

I have a long way to go before I am "medically" in the safe zone....but I realize even doing this already makes me "feel" better...the thought that I am getting smaller everyday instead of bigger is comforting...

I am married to a great guy, I have a grown daughter and a little 17 month old grand daughter...I work as a social worker in a very demanding field with lots of stress! I have suffered multiple losses in my life... the greatest of which was the death if my oldest child 14 years ago....I believe I coped with all the pain and grief by eating....but it really never made me feel better....only in the brief moment and then I felt worse...

SOOO here I am at the bottom of the mountain ready to take that first step and climb AGAIN... I am confident this time I will do it. My long term goal is to have 100 pounds off my body by the time I turn 53....|My short term goal is to get through this day....and then another...and another...I can do this....Happy Sparking!!

My Goals:
For right now to just get through the day being aware of what is healthy for me and what is not ....my longer term goal is to lose 100 pounds in 1.5 years.. I do that by moving more and eating less...

My Program:
Move more each day...exercise 4 times a week...cut out all junk food...eat more salad and drink lots of water...cut out the carbs as much as I can...

Personal Information:
I am from Ontario Canada, I am 51 years old...married to a firefighter captain...I have a wonderful family and lots of friends....I have always been "chunky" never ever been "skinny". I just want to be comfortable in my skin and stop feeling trapped in my own body which as I age does not seem to carry the extra weight as well!

Other Information:
I love the ocean, Florida is one of my favourite places...especially Sanibel...I collect light houses, I work in child protection, I have a little maltese shizue named Holly who is my baby, I love guitars ( have 4 of them) still trying to learn to play lol...my hubby and i love our time at our trailer in the woods...

Nice to see you here once again....and I wish you well on your journey.....

I wouldn't worry too much about it, "a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step'....as you say, just get through it one day at a time....the more relaxed & determined you are about it all....the easier it will be....make yourself busy, so you don't have time to think about food.....throw out everything that's not on your eating plan....and just realise that it's a new way of life, not a diet, ie change your attitudes & perceptions of it all, and it will be heaps easier....
Me? I eat low fructose, high protein, low carb, with no low fat products in my eating plan whatsoever.....I lost 19 kilos over 13 months, am now having another shot too, at getting rid of the last 10 odd kilos I want to lose....so we can cheer each other on...,.
