A new perspective

I've attempted several times to lose weight in the past and I would loose a few kilos then get them back and add more to them. It is been a while since I watched my food or followed a workout program and I'm more accepting of my body the way it is now at 106kg (233 pounds) knowing that I used to hate by body at a lower body weight. My vision of things have dramatically changed as I got a little bit older and I'm no longer anxious or emotional about the way I look. I still think it is a good ...
I still think it is a good thing to get healthier and fitter but no longer have this raging hate and shame inside me. I'm just a young woman who has hormonal imbalance, went through emotional problems and used food to calm down. There is nothing shameful about it, it is what it is just a side of me and my experience in life.

I've been on a long trip to Turkey lately (for around 40 days) and noticed near the end of the trip that I looked much leaner. My clothes looked better and less tight on me, my body got more toned and I felt stronger and happier. I didn't watch my food while I was there however I've been walking a lot while exploring the country, visiting sightings, collecting information and photos for my travel blog. I can say that those long walks were not only a joy to me they have also changed my body. The steep hills and stairs and the fact that the apartment I rented was on the 3rd floor with no elevator made my body stronger and tighter over time. When I went back to Beirut I didn't see much difference in the numbers on the scale, I only weighted 2 kilos lighter but my body have visibly changed. I believe I've gained muscle and lost fat which resulted in a small change in my weight but a different body composition.

The changes I've noticed in my body and spirit during this trip have motivated me to use long walks as a tool to have fun and get fitter. I will definitely add resistance training for a more complete workout.
