Sept 2009 I made the leap and returned to school to become a Registered Nurse. It''s an accelerated 20 month program so I''ve spent more time chained to a desk and in clinical than taking care of my health. Add to that, I emotionally snack, particularly when I''m stressed.
2010 was a year of health challenges: I was quite sick and injured.
So as I face the last 4 months of my program it''s time to re-focus, get back to the baseline where I was. 2011 means starting a new career, re-focussing on my health, and resuming the habits that helped me meet the success that I had a few years ago. So, I''m back!
2012-2015: I moved, got married, bought a house and had a son (who is now 1!). It''s time to find my health and fitness. This time we are doing it as a family!
2016: Just had my second child (and last pregnancy)!
My top Personal Goals for 2011:
1. Track daily even if I'm stressed, or don't meet my nutrition goals.
2. Figure out an exercise schedule and stick to it
3. Plan my meals ahead so that I'm not tempted to go crazy.
4. Run marathon #3.
5. Initial goal: Get back to my pre-nursing school weight and fitness
Long term goals, after I achieve #5:
6. Get my Body Percent Fat down to between 20-22%.
7. My final reward/goal is a professional photo shoot at my goal weight/health.
I'm not following a specific 'diet' but I want to permanently change my eating habits. I'm trying to follow a balanced approach, healthy meals, cooking at home more. I need to work on my eating habits, to stop eating when I'm sad or stressed. Also I'm trying to incorporate more exercise in a fun way, and improve my running pace.
When I started following this program properly I weighed in at 174.8 Ib in December, 2006. I didn't have a proper body percent fat measurement at the time, but I would guess that it was around maybe 36%.
This guess comes because now that I know my body percent fat I am assuming I have not lost lean muscle as I've lost weight.
March 28, 2007 Update:
CW: 153.2 Ib
Current Body Fat Percent: 29.7% (underwater weighing method)
Jan 1, 2008 -- 143 Ibs. Body Fat % unknown. To be tested soon.
Jan 1, 2011 -- TBD, Body Fat % Unknown.

Help Me Not Cheat
I don't like that word "cheat"!
How ridiculous of me
to think that I can somehow get ahead
by committing fraud against myself.
Show me if there is a problem
in my approach to dieting
that makes cheating seem worthwhile.
If so, I want to change that, Lord.
I want to feel clean and whole
and honest through and through.
I don't want to cheat myself
or others or You.
Today I pray to hunger for integrity
in my deepest being.
May I automatically reject the idea
of dishonesty in any form,
be it little white lies, secret binges,
or false flattery from others.
I want to be reliable and
honest with little things
so that You might trust me
with the big things.
But I need Your help.
