Here I am, starting over once again. I think it might work better now, though. On Friday, Oct. 10, I finally was able to retire. The next day was my birthday, and I went all day--a leadership meeting at church, a live streaming of Verdi's MacBeth from the Met, and a Pete Seeger retrospective in the evening. Here I am, starting over once again. I think it might work better now, though. On Friday, Oct. 10, I finally was able to retire. The next day was my birthday, and I went all day--a leadership meeting at church, a live streaming of Verdi's MacBeth from the Met, and a Pete Seeger retrospective in the evening. The next two days, all I did was sleep, all day and all night. By Tuesday, I felt rested and well, but low energy. By Wednesday, I was raring to go, and got more done in an hour than I had in the last three days.
Now, here's the kicker. Since Oct 10 (we are basically talking a week), my blood pressure, glucose levels, and even my weight have dropped significantly. I think all this time I was just tired and stressed.
So, here I am, starting over again, and feeling like this is more do-able when I can control my schedule and my meals more than I have ever been able to do while I had to go to work.
I won't be posting regularly until I can get expensive high speed internet at home (I live in the country, and it is not easily accessible where I am), but will try to keep track on paper and keep up with my friend feed when I happen to be in town.

Oct. 20, 2014: Get my weight down and my activity up. Have the energy and mobility to enjoy the years I have left, now that no one else is controlling my time.
Oct. 20, 2014:
1. do slow food as often as possible. Make my own bread, cook with fresh foods, etc.
2. do some kind of exercise for at least 10 minutes every day.
3. get the house and land cleaned up and pleasant to be around.
4. develop a new daily routine, including home maintainence, writing, practicing piano and drums, and crafts each day.
5. add some new volunteer activities.

Lol! I agree Oak! These ideas that anyone who picks up a gun #1 knows what they're doing with it and #2 has a normal or above average IQ are myths. So far, I haven't had any problems with hunters near our property, but better to be safe than sorry!
I'm with you about just staying out of the woods for a couple of weeks.
Right now, I believe we're between seasons. (gun and crossbow) I haven't heard any gunshots around our area this year even though we're backed up to BLM land. I went with Jen today for a short walk to the pond wearing a light colored T-shirt, and when I got home there was a brand new orange hunting vest laying on my chair! I'll be seen from outer space wearing this!

OAK, what did you use to get rid of the odour, I think it is drifting this way once again.
My hypersensitivities make me taste smell as well as just smell them I chew a lot of gum these days. HUGS Pat in Maine.
