These pictures are encouraging. I was here once before I can do it again. How did I let myself get back to being over 300 lbs. Can't dwell on that. Time to make changes. I am looking forward to getting married and having a healthy life so I can be around a long time with my family.

My story - I decided in late Feb 2008 that I needed to change my lifestyle. Everyday I try to learn a little more and take one more step toward a healthy lifestyle. At the beginning of 2008 I weighed 290 lbs. I joined the gym in Feb of 08 and got a personal trainer since I had no idea where to even begin. When I started I thought I had to keep telling myself I was not going to die and that I was strong enough to just walk on the treadmill. I have come a long way since then but walking on the treadmill is still my favorite although now I walk at an incline of 15 and speed of at least 4.0. I started at no incline and a speed of 2.8. I also started logging what I ate and tried to eat healthier. Taking it one step at a time gradually getting better each day. I joined SP in late Feb 09 when the website I was logging my nutrition shut down.

Although I joined SP to track my nutrition and exercise, I have since become addicted to SP and the teams I am involved in. I love to motivate and be motivated by all the people I meet here. I also love the articles and everything else SP has to offer. Thank you SP for making this site free. I think it is the best site I have seen so far.

I know that I can lose all the weight now. In the past I used my hypothyroidism as an excuse as to why I was so overweight. I was just lying to myself. I gained weight due to eating poorly which is much more calories than needed and no exercise.

Long term goal to be down to 135 lbs.

My Program:
Calorie counting 1300 - 1500 calories per day eating mostly whole foods.
Exercise 4 to 6 days per week with at least 2 days per week of strength training.

Pushing myself with circuit training and interval running lately.

I ran for the 1st time in 15 years in Feb 09. It felt great.

    Hi glad you found THM, you and your husband will not regret it. I'm a lot like you, I work all day and rather not cook, actually don't like cooking but love the easy recipes and the food that I do most of the time prepare my stuff now.

    Some of the easy desserts for one will be a lifesaver for you

    What I find easy for me is I place frozen chicken in the crockpot throw in some ingredients and then when I get home my dinner is ready..if I had a personal chef that would be awesome.

    Also, what I found was if I could up a package of chicken tenders say on Sunday, they last a few days for quick lunches, dinners, etc.

    Let us know if you need help, we post recipes and what we eat for the day, not everyday, but we do if you need some ideas.


    p.s. I actually started in 2009, but totally got frustrated and deleted my original sparkpage never to get my status back, points, etc.

    Glad you joined the Trim Healthy Mama (THM) team. We have Great Leaders and we're all here to help. We're a active bunch too!.

    I see you have already jumped in with us on the Food Freedom - Book Study thread. This thread has helped me get more out of the THM book.
