Being What I Choose!

I was overweight for a long long time, like nearly 20 years. I finally had the perfect storm of stuff that lead me to getting healthy in 2008.

It went much faster than I imagined it would. It has been incredible in every meaning and shading of the word.

10/28/08--I got the e-mail that I was chosen as a SP Motivator! Thanks everyone! It really brought tears to my eyes. I'm not sure what I've done... but I'm proud of it and honestly hope I've been helpful to folks!

12/2/08--3 months' residence in MaintenanceVille!

1/25/09--I'm just a week away from 5 months of Maintenance. Every day is a journey... it's not like you "get there" and everything is perfect... but I just keep learning as I go.

3/16/09--You'd think I would have posted something for my 6 months in MaintenanceVille... I think I thought about it, but it seems I'm so busy all the time now... argh. But YAY! 6 months + 2 weeks!

4/4/09--7 months + 2 days of Maintenance...

8/2/09--11 months in Maintenance... weight up a few lbs, but working to get it back off.

6/13/10--Still about where I was when I last updated this. It's been a rough time lately staying active and eating within calories. Kind of going back to the drawing board, may even do the SparkStart fastbreak again... just to get back to the basics... sigh.

9/2/10--2 years in Maintenance now. Weight still holding in desired range. I have discovered a new Spark for exercise again. I just want to run and run and run... I am feeling amazing!

My Goals:
Maintain the weight loss I have achieved and keep it off for life. I also want to maintain the change in my eating and exercise habits. I am working to rebuild my resolve that has eroded recently.

My Program:
I am concentrating on getting my minimum 5 servings of fruits and veggies per day and exercising at least 6 days per week.

I like a variety of types of exercise... running, treadmill, videos, etc.

I am a huge fan of Jillian Michaels and her tough love approach.

Personal Information:
I am originally from Florissant MO and lived in Columbia MO for over 20 years and then moved to the Pacific NW via Blytheville AR and Germany.

I'm a temp nurse at a local school district and worked public health in Missouri for 7 years. I'm also a nurse in the US Army Reserve.

I also love to knit, spin wool, scrapbook, read, listen to music, sing, camp, watch movies, etc.

emoticon Ahhhh...the music box...it's been quite since...told my dad about it and he was like, "who do you think it was?" My asnwer was that it could be anyone..I have tons of angels, but I'm thinking it's mom or my aunt Mary...or both! Mary was my predecessor at work, she taught me everything I know...my mom played the piano, taught me some of that too, and how to live in the truth of things...

I realized today that I've been neglecting my SparkFriends, so I'm going to start dropping by at least one SparkPage every day just to say hi. And I agree that lunch always sounds like fun. I have most MWF free, but not next Wednesday. Or I could time a trip to Columbia for a Saturday?
