My new bike looks just like this; just no basket of flowers; no bottle of wine in the back rack.

So true!

Loving the fall season!

The crisp cool air, the Goldenrod in the ditches, and the Black-Eyed Susans. That anticipation that "sweater weather" will arrive soon.

The fruit trees in the yard will go dormant for the year; already the fig trees have lost their leaves. The ripe, heavy fruit on the citrus trees is beginning to show tinges of orange!

Dratted squirrels ate ALL the persimmons; but I wish them the joy of them. Squirrels have to eat, too.

The bike trails where are I ride, mostly Rails to Trails, are lush with the first glow of autumn. Deer grazing, unafraid, just off the trail; once, a rattlesnake sunning itself on the bike path. Just steered clear, and wished her well.

It is almost time to cook up my yearly extra large batch of vegan gingerbread. This recipe uses a ton of fresh, grated ginger root, and just the right amount of spice. I make extra to give to friends, and also secret serving size portions in the freezer for later. Delicious on a chilly afternoon with a cup of hot tea. Wonderful!

Isn't life just so full of delightful small pleasures? How can every day not bring numerous opportunities for experiencing beauty, love, joy, gratitude?

Wishing all of you the pleasures of the season as the year winds to a close --and a bright new year that will come close on its heels.

I live in sunny Florida, and am so grateful for the fabulous weather here! I have a very large yard (approx. 1 acre), and it is filled with flowering bushes and fruit trees. It is like a sanctuary; my private garden of Eden.

I have two elderly rescue dogs that I adore. I spoil them terribly.

I am addicted to audiobooks and have a very large collection of them. My preferred genre is Fantasy Fiction.

Other Information:
I have distinct leanings toward the Wiccan version of spirituality.

I am probably the happiest, most content person I know!

I have so much to be grateful for in my life. I feel like I am living in a sea of bounty, and daily count the many wondrous blessings that the universe had bestowed upon me.

LIFE IS GOOD!

Thanks for the goodie! It worked! It was pouring down rain in Sarasota this morning, but it cleared up and was gorgeous when we got there. What a fun place! We soon realized that we couldn't do everything that there was to do, and still get back to the doggies in a humane amount of time. But we did see more circus wagons than I've seen since the last time a circus was in town, walked through a copy of the Doges Palace that I couldn't imagine living in, and ate a wonderful lunch at the museum restaurant.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my page! Wow! You really brightened up this stormy afternoon. Trust me, I look a LOT better and FEEL a lot better now than when I was 51. There's no age I want to go back to. Go bacIk into my gallery and look at the top row of pictures; best I can do for "before" and I was actually on my way down. I was 60 then. I don't have any before at my heaviest because I had no intention of dieting. I was going to settle into being a fluffy grandma.
I bought my first hoop from Canyonhoops,.com. There are a lot of links for hoops on the teams page; a lot of other good information too. I am really enjoying hooping, a goal I set, and met, for my 70th birthday. Fun! I never was able to hoop as a kid. After that first purchase I made my other hoops and hoops for my grandkids and a few friends. . You never have too many hoops. I do intend to buy a polypro hoop to try some more intricate moves. We'll see.
I have no idea about the wisdom of hooping with your hip. You are right, check with your doctor first. Be ready for a strange reaction--we're supposed to act like old ladies! Bah, humbug! Enjoy your weekend! emoticon

Good morning, my Friend! Emerson said, "The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him." I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!! And I thank you for believing in me :)

A hip replacement is NOT a reason not to dance :) I know several "bionic" dancers :) The movements come from the core and the legs -- not the actual joints, so if you have decent quad and hamstring strength, you can try it! Also it's WAAAAY more fun than doing crunches to get your abs fit! :)
