Body, Mind and Soul

I my goal is to improve my fitness level and lower my weight by approximately 40 pounds.

I'm interested to know others, who are sixty and over and have issues with fat around the middle, as I do. This metabolism of mine has change in the last 15 years, and now I find it very difficult to slim down. It seems like only yesterday when I could eat less, exercise more intensely and take off those 1o pounds in no time. I would love to talk to other seniors and share our experiences. ...

Don't get me wrong, I love to talk to others of all ages. I'm sure we share much in common when it comes to keeping our motivation up and making life style changes.

I'm interested in how our mind works regarding our addictions and habits. We are able to see the big picture, understand what we need to do, but for me and a lot of others I suspect, its like fighting an "alter ego" that wants its own satisfaction - eat that cookie or drink that glass of wine. We see it - sometimes we win, sometimes we give in to "the other".

My Goals:
My goal is to improve my physical fitness and control my weight.

My Program:
Eat well, 8 fruit and vegetables a day, drink water not high calorie drinks, use good fats, little red meat, more fish, and watch those sweets. I am walking three times a day for fifteen minutes or more. I feel better, but my weight has only dropped five pounds. Its a slow process. m

Personal Information:
I am currently working as a teacher of special education for medically fragile and intellectually delayed students. I am an artist, currently doing photography, drawing and painting. Most importantly I am a theosophist - we are spirituals being on a physical journey!

Other Information:
The quest of the artist is in the spirit.

HI!! NO the picture is not me but my internalized picture of serenity!!

Maybe I will try to take one similar to that.

How are you? How is the ankle? All healed up nicely, I hope.

This morning a very tiny group of South Jersey Spakers took a walk around a 3.1 mile loop in a park outside of Philly. We had a very nice time!!
