Summer 2014 5% challenge - Not the same - better!

Goals - work on small goals, 1 week, 2 weeks, a month at a time!

Food tracking, better selection, stopping eating when almost full, drink that water!

Veggies - work on plates filled with more veggies than meat and fat!

Me time - get in some me time each day! 5-10 minutes! - this one hasn't been going well - time to work on it!

Extra exercise - find a time for me to get in one extra ...

Hello! Love your sparkpage background! Welcome to the Champions in the Kitchen Fall Challenge! The Summer Challenge was my first experience with this group. It was a lot of fun, interesting, and chocked full of support along the way by a great bunch of sparkers.

Today and tomorrow, they've asked us to share our strategies for success. I'm sticking with what worked for me over the Summer Challenge, as I lost 5%, and lost weight each week, all while managing a record number of food events over the 8 weeks; the management of the food events was remarkable. For me, two things were key: I restricted my calories daily to 1200-1300 and stuck to my food plan of lean proteins, most of my carbs were fruits and vegetables, with 2 servings of bread over the course of the day. Food event days were less strict on food content, but I made myself stick to the 1200-1300 calories a day. Was it easy? No, but worth it. Patience is sooooo key.

No kidding, I'd love to have you help! But unfortunately, in today's world, they have to cover themselves against pedophiles, etc. I have to pay to register each year, as does my co-leader. I don't remember the background check, but since I had to go through one to volunteer in school I probably just gave them that. Sorry it's not easier! :-( You might google your local Girl Scout Council office and call and see if there's anything you could do?
