Hi..thanks for stopping by. My name is Teresa, I am 47yrs young. I have 2 adult children and 2 wonderful grandchildren. I just recently graduated college with my Associates Degree and Certificate in Deaf Studies (ASL=American Sign Language). I am continuing my education striving for my next AA in Instructional Aide. I would like to work in the school system and be a blessing to those that are hard-of-hearing and/or Deaf. I love people and want to help those that I can. I have a long past with many experiences that I believe could be an asset to someone else. I started this Sparkpeople journey awhile back with the intentions of using it to help me a long this treacherous rode of becoming a healthier happier me. I have always struggled with my weight throughout my life. (With only one experience in my life of being 125 lbs in a size 14 pants at the age of 21, caused by a meth habit). I am seriously tired of the yo-yo syndrome. When I started Sparkpeople I weighed a whopping 267 lbs in 2005. In 2006 I had lost 37 lbs using the HCG program at a clinic. That clinic closed down in the beginning of 2007 and there wasn't another clinic around. Needless to say, from that point until July 1st I have just let it creep back up. In June I weighed myself at the Nutritionist and the scale tipped at 246 lb.. I was very disappointed that I had let myself travel back up only to gain more inches and pounds to work back off. On July 1, 2012, Jamie decided to get serious about losing her weight (start 295 lbs today 7/18/12 she is 284 lbs) so I decided to join her. Not only for myself but I want to be there for her too. I don't want to see her live the rest of her life unhealthy. She has a beautiful personality and a strong walk with the Lord. I have issues with high cholesterol and high blood pressure (keeping it under control w/medication). Which right now she has no issues with but I would like to encourage her anyway I can so she doesn't end up going through the same stuff I am. I truly believe I can achieve my first goal of returning to 'Onederland' and this time around it will be less stressful because I have a partner. As I help her be accountable she will in return do the same for me. I love life and want to see my grandchildren grow up. I want to be able to do more with them when they come to visit. I want to be able to get down on the ground and play with them and not have to crawl to find a place to get up at. I want to walk/jog/run a 5k sometime in my life. I want to be able to fit back onto the roller coasters at Magic Mountain (oh how I miss those rides). I love the thrill! I want to be able to ride my bike without someone yelling some insults out their car windows at me and my daughter. (How embarrassing) I want to fit back into a pair of 8 1/2 shoes (now in a 9w-10w). I want to shop in the non-plus sizes (which I have never been able to do since I was in elementary). These are just a few of my goals. Well thanks again for stopping by and reading MySparkPage. I pray we will get to know one another. God Bless and have a wonderful Day!
