Hello and thank you for stopping by...My introduction is actually on the bottom side of this section. I have choose to keep my updates on top.
(Nov. 30, 2015)
So for the year of 2015 I had signed up for the challenge to lose 50-100lbs by January 2016. I just need to realize and understand that those challenges just wasn't for me and/or I just wasn't disciplined enough to follow through. So I have been inspired by a fellow sparker persistenttim. He has lost a lot of weight, consistently over time. It's been like 1-2 lbs a week or staying the same but I don't see a whole lot of him going backwards. So I'm going to take note of the things he does and adopt them and see if they work for me. I'm no longer going to beat myself up. This is a lifestyle change and I need it to fit me. As of this morning, I weighed in at 248 lbs.. I'm not going to make any New Years resolutions...I'm just going to stay the course!
(Jan. 4, 2015)
So needless to say, I didn't reach my goal of losing 50 by 50 and I realize that that was an unrealistic goal. So I have decided not to beat myself up and change my goal to something more attainable like striving to lose a pound a week. If I lose more, great, if I don't lose anything at all, well ok, however if I gain I will have to reevaluate my situation but as my screenname states....I'm NVRGIVINGUP! I know for me it will be an endless battle but something has to break. I have recently jumped aboard the challenge to lose 50-100 lbs. a year from now, we'll see how things turn out. Hopefully better than the last year :-)
Signing off for now and I'll strive to update this in about 2 months.
(Aug. 26, 2014)
Well here I am again, striving to give this another try. I am 49, going to be 50 on Dec. 29. I need to do this for myself. I deserve to be a healthier me. I am no longer a waitress therefore I no longer work long hours on my feet. I work as an Instructional Aide working with Mod/Severe Exceptional PreK/Kinder. In the last year I have gained over 20 lbs. and I am just a little disappointed with myself for allowing it to happen. I definitely need to be more serious about my health if I am going to live past 50. So I just wanted to update my profile and hope you all are doing well!
(2012)Hi..thanks for stopping by. My name is Teresa, I am 47yrs young. I have 2 adult children and 2 wonderful grandchildren. I just recently graduated college with my Associates Degree and Certificate in Deaf Studies (ASL=American Sign Language). I am continuing my education striving for my next AA in Instructional Aide. I would like to work in the school system and be a blessing to those that are hard-of-hearing and/or Deaf. I love people and want to help those that I can. I have a long past with many experiences that I believe could be an asset to someone else.
I started this Sparkpeople journey awhile back with the intentions of using it to help me a long this treacherous rode of becoming a healthier happier me. I have always struggled with my weight throughout my life. (With only one experience in my life of being 125 lbs in a size 14 pants at the age of 21, caused by a meth habit). I am seriously tired of the yo-yo syndrome. When I started Sparkpeople I weighed a whopping 267 lbs in 2005. In 2006 I had lost 37 lbs using the HCG program at a clinic. That clinic closed down in the beginning of 2007 and there wasn't another clinic around. Needless to say, from that point until July 1st I have just let it creep back up. In June I weighed myself at the Nutritionist and the scale tipped at 246 lb.. I was very disappointed that I had let myself travel back up only to gain more inches and pounds to work back off.
On July 1, 2012, Jamie decided to get serious about losing her weight (start 295 lbs today 7/18/12 she is 284 lbs) so I decided to join her. Not only for myself but I want to be there for her too. I don't want to see her live the rest of her life unhealthy. She has a beautiful personality and a strong walk with the Lord. I have issues with high cholesterol and high blood pressure (keeping it under control w/medication). Which right now she has no issues with but I would like to encourage her anyway I can so she doesn't end up going through the same stuff I am.
I truly believe I can achieve my first goal of returning to 'Onederland' and this time around it will be less stressful because I have a partner. As I help her be accountable she will in return do the same for me.
I love life and want to see my grandchildren grow up. I want to be able to do more with them when they come to visit. I want to be able to get down on the ground and play with them and not have to crawl to find a place to get up at. I want to walk/jog/run a 5k sometime in my life. I want to be able to fit back onto the roller coasters at Magic Mountain (oh how I miss those rides). I love the thrill! I want to be able to ride my bike without someone yelling some insults out their car windows at me and my daughter. (How embarrassing) I want to fit back into a pair of 8 1/2 shoes (now in a 9w-10w). I want to shop in the non-plus sizes (which I have never been able to do since I was in elementary). These are just a few of my goals.
Well thanks again for stopping by and reading MySparkPage. I pray we will get to know one another.
God Bless and have a wonderful Day!
My ultimate goal is to become a healthier happier ME!

The scriptures you post daily in your blog - do you follow the daily scriptures given on KLOVE radio station? LOL I've just noticed that they have been the same at least a couple of times. If so, that's a great way to be sure you're remembering and meditating on that scripture each day! (And if not, that's just a tiny bit crazy! LOL!)

My phone says the place I visited is called Grant Park in Ventura. All I know is it is up on a hill and overlooks the water. It is beautiful if you can find it. I'm not real familiar with Ventura. A local told us to visit it. Hope this helps .
