Hi, my name is Vanessa, and I am a counselor. After working for several years, I finally completed a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance. I am also working full time for a nonprofit counseling agency.

I have struggled for as long as I can remember to lose weight and I will admit that after many failed attempts I have been feeling pretty discouraged the last several years...BUT I am super excited to be journeying down this road again, this time with renewed confidence, hope, and a drive that I hope NEVER fades away.

My Goals:
I would like to be comfortable with myself and improve my self-confidence. I also want to be healthy and a good role model for my two young daughters. I don't want them to struggle with weight or health issues because I didn't show them good habits. To do this I plan to:
*Eat healthy meals prepared at home (eating out has been an overabundance)

My Program:
I am eating plenty of fruits, vegetables and salads; substituting salad dressing with lime or lemon juice; also eating grilled chicken with most of everything; whole grains; etc.

I am also working out 6 days a week; mixing it up with kickboxing, boot camp DVDs, walk/runs on the treadmill or at the park, push ups, sit ups, lunges, etc.

Personal Information:
I am from a small town south of San Antonio, TX.

I have a Masters degree in guidance and counseling and I'm working to finish my LPC intern hours.

I've always had self esteem issues, even when I was thinner. I hope that my efforts will give me more confidence so that I can finally be comfortable with myself.

Other Information:
I love to read, spend time with my family, paint or draw, and watch movies.

I also love to give to others and help out in any way that I can. I hope that I can influence and make a positive difference in as many lives as possible.
