The picture from the half marathon I ran

I did a half marathon the other day (10/24/10). I can't really say I ran it because I am so frigging slow. I came in 1722 out of 1791. I honestly could not care if I came in at 1791 - I finished. I am happy with that. But, I just got a link to the race pictures. And, it killed me. I honestly had no idea I was that friggin big. So, it's time to get my butt in gear and get to a healthy, comfortable weight.

My Goals:
I'm 45 now. My true, long term goal, is to do the Bermuda Walking Marathon for my 75th birthday with my wife and kids. I figure if I am healthy enough to do that at that age, have my kids want to do that with me then and pay for the kids and their families at that time, I will have had a damn good life. But, my immediate goal is to get healthy enough to make it that long. Oh, and to wear a "large" shirt instead of a 2XL.

Trying to figure that out.

Originally from Philly. Been in Atlanta since 1996. Married 20 years with two great kids.

Other Information:
The Nuts! Nuts! Get 'em! has been the "rallying cry" for me and my family. It's from an old Far Side. It's a bunch of squirrels in a huddle chanting that and it says before starting their day, squirrels must first pump themselves up.

Thanks so much for your comment on my blog. I often get in the mindset that I have to do some kinda formal workout routine for atleast 30mins, but you are right....several 10min sessions may be more appropriate for my life right now :-) it's all about making it work with the schedule you have right now, right?! Thanks for the ideas! Keep up the hard work....make today count!!!
