I need to remember this more often.

Where I want to be and how to get there.

This reminds me of what I am trying to do besides lose weight.

My Journey - April 3, 2008

Still here after seven years. It was time to revamp my profile as it kept getting "lost in the sauce" for unknown reasons. Weight loss is a scary process. Losing a limb or two to diabetes is even harder to contemplate. Choose your hard.

What many soon realize, it's not about weight loss (surprise!). It's about what is preventing us from embracing success. Ultimately this is a journey of discovery, an inward discovery of the person that we are, and the one that we hope we will ...

Ultimately this is a journey of discovery, an inward discovery of the person that we are, and the one that we hope we will become. It's not a linear progression by any stretch of the imagination. It comes with bumps, weight loss, "plateaus", frustration. We did not get to the weight we are in one weekend of indiscretions, nor will we lose it overnight. It's a long tedious process. But I do believe when we explore those dark corners of our soul and cast a nourishing light there, the demons will scatter, and we will have a clearer understanding of ourselves, and what we really hope to get out of life.

In any endeavor, to be credible, you have to be fit, not only for yourself, but to create a successful business. That's our next goal. One gets fit for oneself, not for any significant other, or for one's children. Once we realize that, we have taken the first significant step.

It's never too late to take that first step forward. Meet you at the Maintenance Table. No rush to get there. It never closes.

I am anxious to read "Go Set A Watchman." I will get a copy and get started. I've never been part of a cyber book club, so I'm not sure what to expect. I am just happy that the group chose a Southern writer to begin. I briefly studied Southern writers in college. Harper Lee is quite an interesting lady. Did you know she is a descendent of General Robert E. Lee? I find that faschinating. She was also best friends with Truman Capote and helped him research his novel, "in Cold Blood."
O.K., I'll stop now. I tend to go on and on about such things. My son says I'm just a nerd. lol At least he smiles when he says it.

can’t say that my life is NEVER dull or boring. Went to Wal Mart w/my parents yesterday. Jason and Clara went in Jason’s car and I went with Mom and Dad. We did our shopping and were heading to the respective cars when Jason shouted for me. Holy Katzenjammer Kids . . . . I thought something happened to Clara!

As it turned out, there was a black woman, probably about 55, who was actively seizing and not responsive. She’d hit 3 cars and narrowly missed some pedestrians. OMG! When I got to the car, she was actively seizing, warm to the touch and an irregular heart beat, but she was breathing. I had someone get security from Wal Mart and call 9-1-1. I stayed w/the lady to make sure that she kept breathing till the parameds arrived. Took them about 4 minutes. Meanwhile, the passenger in that woman’s car says, “I’m diabetic and feeling poorly.” Oh crud! I didn’t have anything to give her, but was going to run to the Old Country Buffet and get some Coke. FORTUNATELY the parameds arrived quickly, though and could tend to her and the seizing woman. LORD LOVE A DUCK!

But who has more fun than a barrel of drunken monkeys. There’s MORE. Last night as I was about to head to sleep Mom comes to me panicked. “Dad is on the floor and can’t get up.” OH CRAP! Went into the bedroom and Dad was sitting by the side of the bed. He was unhurt but couldn’t get up. Jason and I got him up. We will have to discuss this one today. **SIGH**

So . . . on that note, also noted that the stock market is down 380 points and it’s not even open yet! OMG! Is anyone ready for Tuesday yet!????

Susan's story just goes to show you that if you have a dream and work to accomplish it, you can do it. She IS a force to be reckoned with.

Here's to a productive Wednesday! And hope you feel better! Summer colds are the worst. Had one 2 weeks ago.
