I am a single mother and a returning-to-college student getting a Masters of Mental Health Counseling.

I am learning to balance the "have to do" items with the "healthy lifestyle" items so that I can meet my goals of losing weight - the better to be able to hike and fish and camp - and to become in better physical shape - so that my knees and back do not hurt as much.

Hey-- are you still Sparking? You were my friend back in Feb. and you posted some encouraging remarks on my page. Well, I slacked and gave up and pulled away from SparkPeople. Needless to say, the pounds returned and my discouragement is worse than ever. I could use an encouraging friend to keep me going. You still interested? I can give encouragement as well as take it!:)

Hi! I'm new to SP, but liking it a lot so far. I totally know what you mean about trying to balance the responsibilities each day with doing something that is good for you. That is exactly my trouble. For many years now I have taken care of everyone except me. So, it is a difficult adjustment. Looks like you are doing great though! Keep it up!
