Stressed out moma of two under two!

Hi, I'm a single mom of two kidos under the age of two. I once weighed 480 lbs. I am currently still down to 400, however, I did at once get down to 250 lbs, which was my pre-pregnancy weight with my daughter three years ago, but a bad relationship and pregnancy caused me to gain 150 of those back, and when I got pregnant and had my son I really didn't gain anything, just pretty much stayed the same.

It is hard to lose weight right now with two kids...I'm still trying to find the time being a single mom. It's hard, and stressful. I wouldn't say I eat to many of the wrong foods...I would say I eat to many of the right ones combined with little physical activity equals NO weight loss for me. I'm not gaining any weight, witch is good...I've been about the same weight since I had my daughter...I guess I just need that motivation and competition between myself and someone else. I would really like to find someone locally that has the same general goals as I do. I would like to join the YMCA again...but it's hard to go when I don't have anyone to watch the kids...I know they will, but it's an extra $13 a month per kid on top of the $50 a month membership fee. I really need to try...after having two kids it really sucks the life out of your body. I feel as though my bones are being crushed under all this weight, my body definitely isn't what it used to be. I want to be able to get down on the floor with my kids and play with them without worrying about how I'm going to get up. I want to chase after them without feeling like if I move the wrong way I might break a bone because I'm to big. If anyone in the wichita area would like some friendly competition and motivation while trying to lose weight...I could use a buddy! :o)

Good luck finding a buddy..that hopefully will help you to get motivated. I am quite the opposite..I'd rather work out primarily alone..listening to music! I learned a long time ago that the only person I could depend on to be there all the time..was myself! I learned that If i hadn't truly decided in my mind to make it happen, , no amount of pushing or encouraging was going to make me do it! That's just me though, everyone is different!! I will talk to you later..you might think about going onto team Wichita introduce yourself thread, and introduce yourself, then explain your situation & ask if anyone would like to join you in your walking! It doesn't hurt to try! Have a great week Renee...I wish you luck on your journey!!

Renee..I am so glad you are ready to do this...I know it is going to be difficult with the little ones. Remember..baby steps at first. The most important thing is to start moving..maybe taking a walk (when the weather allows) would be good. Can you take the little ones with you? Also, there are some good workout dvd's that you could do at home.

When I first started, about all I could do is walk..so that is what I did On the fitness tracker, I saved maps of several different distances from my house. I started with 1 mile. I did this until I started losing weight & gradually added more distance. Today I walk 3-4 miles a day, but am cutting down a bit because now I have met my goal & don't want to lose anymore!

I couldn't afford a gym membership (still don't have one) but as i got healthier, I bought some fitness videos to do inside when the weather was bad. I also bought some dumb bells, resistance bands, and an exercise ball to do strength training. You can use a towel instead of resistance bands, canned goods for weights etc. There are some really good articles on Sparkpeople talking about different exercises you can do if you don't have a lot of room or time Etc.

Don't forget... BABY STEPS! Don't try to do too much at first but start moving & do what you can! Well, i hope this has been a help. your team mates on your teams are very valuable..reach out to them. they probably have a lot of tips & ideas that can help you!!

Have a great Sunday....I'll keep checking in with you to see how you are doing. You can reach your goals!!
