My name is Nicole. "Nikey", "Nikki" or "Nik". I'm almost 31 and have had a constant battle with my weight. I have always been a heavy girl. One of my grandmothers used to say I was "big boned" or would tell me (even in my twenties) that "it is just baby fat and will eventually go away". My name is Nicole. "Nikey", "Nikki" or "Nik". I'm almost 31 and have had a constant battle with my weight. I have always been a heavy girl. One of my grandmothers used to say I was "big boned" or would tell me (even in my twenties) that "it is just baby fat and will eventually go away". It seems that throughout life I felt as long I was unaccepted or alone. Food was my companion and "BULGE" and "FAT" became my bestfriends. They never left my side (back or front). This year I started @ January in my journey to success without much motivation or real care to do anything. I even bought a treadmill, guaranteeing I would use it. I have used it maybe 5 times since I picked it up on January 31st (assembled about 1-1 1/2 weeks later by my brother and fiance). I started to get my motivation back over the weekend and I am looking to stick with it. I am noticing that logging my food (sometimes even the night before) is helpful. I used the treadmill on Monday after work for an 1 1/2 hours at a rate that was good for me and increased as I felt I needed to. I took a day off yesterday and look forwardto getting back to it today. I think... No scratch that... I KNOW I CAN DO THIS!!! I look forward to maintaining a healthier lifestyle and working towards a better me!!!

Actually, I am doing fine..weight wise.. still losing, but I thought I had finally lost some inches..only to find out this morning, that my eyes must have been playing tricks on me! And I had measured several times to make it was right too!! but this morning, I measured my hips again and they were the same as always and I didn't lose inches. After almost 5 months of gym workouts, you'd think I would at least lose something! Except for a little from my face, I don't see much difference and its very frustrating!! Bad day for me today! Feel like giving up, but I won't!! Don't worry! I talked to my trainer and we are going to sit down and go over nutrition, body mass, and exercises. Of course, I already know they are not big on low carb diets, lol but I will listen! Hope you are doing good on yours! how's it coming?

My goodness, I can't believe it: another big-boned girl, at last. That is exactly what I was always told by my family. How did that make you feel? Right, me too! How about being buddies, so we can inspire each other with optimism and words of encouragement as we become healthy and strong this spring and summer?
