My Race

As soon as I get past temptation, sloth and habit, the finish line should be in sight. They can ALL eat my dust!

I wasn't always overweight, though I've always thought I was. I packed on weight in my early 20's, and each attempt to lose it using a crash diet just resulted in further gain. I eventually cut my food intake dramatically, lost my hunger response, and for the past few years have kept the weight on as a chronic undereater. My daily intake was under 500 calories ...

My daily intake was under 500 calories (unless at a social function where I ate what everyone else did) and my metabolism had slowed to a crawl. I was tired all the time. I am now eating better, and I feel hunger and thirst again. Unfortunately, I'm enjoying it so much that now I'm tempted to overeat.

My overall weight loss goal is 122 pounds in 18 months. Sooner would be a bonus!

hehe, If you're still feeling sore from the last ride, I highly recommend a nice pair of padded bike shorts. :D Sure, they make you look ridiculous, but you can wear other pants/shorts over the top of them, and they make the ride sooo much more comfy. :) You can also change your bike seat to one of those larger padded ones that are good for touring. I stole my brother's bike and he has one of those skinny tiny non-padded racing seats. I regret it almost everytime I go on a long ride. lol Comfort is the key ;)

Wooohoooo!!! Cycling! :D Tonnes of fun. :D And yeah, it is a bit hard. You're using completely different muscles to what you're used to (and let's not even mention that uncomfortable bike seat!!) so just give it some time and you'll get on track. :)

Hey there! thanks for stopping by and thank you for your nice commment :) Its really strange to see myself, when I look so different.

I haven't been as active on spark since i've been working close to full time and i've been finding it exhausting. Being sick for nearly a full month has left me off-schedule with my exercise as well.. *sigh* how have you been doing with your routine? You seem to be doing well with your weight progress :) I can't wait til summer! I'm definitely starting to get the winter blues!! ttys dana
