Long story short. I've been overweight since I was 16. I am now 28.

Like most of us, I have tried and failed in the past to lose these extra pounds.

When I got pregnant in 2009, I gained an extra 75 pounds on top of an already overweight body. I had a c-section. It got infected. I ended up with 2+ hernias. Life was looking pretty bleak at 25-26 years old. At the top of my pregnancy, I was 308 lbs. After losing some weight and having my daughter, it dropped to 279. Better, but not good enough.

In order to have surgery on the hernias, the doctor suggested I lose 50 lbs. He told me how much worse the surgery would have been if i did not lose weight first. I was convinced. I needed to lose 50 lbs at least.

Well its June 2011 and I just had my surgery last week. I've lost 75 lbs at this point and it still keeps coming off.

Most of this weight loss has been from calorie cutting, some from exercise.

If you can win the battle of consistency, you can win the war of weight loss. Consistency is the hardest part! I started my weight loss journey (again) on June 1, 2010. Look at me now! I am over halfway to my final goal weight. I am unstoppable at this point!

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get to 150 pounds.
I started with a long term 50 pound goal which I reached in late March. I am now focused on getting under 200 pounds. After that, I will focus on reaching 100 pounds lost. And then...I will focused on my final goal! I find that milestones makes it easier to break down the goals and less overwhelming than looking at the bigger picture.

A few of my milestones:
- Reaching heaviest pre-pregnancy weight (234)
- Reaching pre-
pregnancy weight right before I got pregnant (224)
- Hitting 50 pounds lost...I need to have surgery and doctor told me to lose 50 pounds first
- Halfway to final goal (214, 65 pounds lost)
- Lowest weight in 8 years (204 lbs)

Upcoming Milestones:
- Onederland!!!! Under 200 lbs
- 100 pounds lost (179)
- Final Goal! (149)

My Program:
Eating less, moving more. I try to get between 1200-1600 calories a day. I'm trying to be more active as well...burning about 1200 calories a week at least. Its slow but I believe this is the way it will stay off for good!

Personal Information:
I am a single mom of a beautiful two year old daughter. I have been overweight since high school. I made it even worse when I got pregnant but have lost all my pregnancy weight...yay! Now I am chipping away at what I had been working on before I got pregnant. It feels good to be back at square one. But now I believe in myself, I believe I can and WILL do this! I've come so far and I will not give up now.
